Not putting salt in your food while it's cooking goes a long way to keeping down smells in the truck, and some Fabreeze spray (or the like) will usually take care of the rest. Add salt when you're ready to eat.

If you go to a cooking gadgets store, you'll find round screens in a frame with a handle - use one of those to eliminate spatter, or just place a top on your pan in a way that allows the steam to escape yet traps the spatters.

I would be interested in that info... If a thread gets started, let me know where... Then the fun part would be to find the time to stop and enjoy the places!

If you get creative, you can cook a lot of good things in one of the 12v lunch bow ovens. Just start cooking 30/45 minutes before you parking for the day.

Pork roast dinner. Done in a Burton stove. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1353468787.580519.jpg

2.75 hours from cold. It takes half an hour to start building heat. Cooked in an oven bag. Not bad for a first attempt at something like this.

That does look good, just needed some carrots, but those would need a lot longer time to cook unless chopped small or you used some canned.

When I started out, I used a lunchbox oven and the smallest crock pot from Wal-mart (came with a band to keep the cover on). The crock pot worked great on a 400 watt cig lighter inverter from the truck stops on the low setting.

I would go to Wal-Mart and buy one of the crock pot meals in a bag. A little prep work before I start my day and 10 hours later your truck smells like mom's kitchen at dinner time.

Now, I personally use the cooler from the truck stops with the window in it because it's small enough for my T660 (on the passenger seat) and yet big enough to keep a couple of drinks along with a few things for meals in it. It's no Coleman cooler, but it works pretty good. I also have a 600 watt microwave and a small toaster oven. My company supplies an APU w/1500 inverter. I'm thinking about getting a new crock pot (haven't used mine in years) and a propane burner stove.

At Wal-Mart, you can now find in the soup section a bunch of different Hormel meals that don't need refrigeration Through trial and yuks, I found a few that work for me. Wal-Mart even now carries individual serving meats already cooked and sliced. Perfect for creating 1 person meals and only need to be kept cold, not frozen.
