Hey Mark, I'm thinking of getting a refurbished 710 thru RM. what kind of warranty are we talking about? And is an extended one possible?
    Thx!

My 710 froze up and I couldn't turn it off so hit the reset button. Then it wouldn't power back on. I left it unplugged for a few days and was using my old pc miler instead. I brought it home with me and plugged it into my car and it started to power up and froze on the screen that shows the picture of the truck driving down the road. I reset it again and it wouldn't turn back on. I left it unplugged the rest of the day and put it on the charger the next afternoon. It won't turn on at all now. The light shows up red then eventually green when it's plugged in. I bought my gps on February 3rd, 2012 and I'm really disappointed to see it fail this soon. Suppose it's time to switch to Garmin. The one in my car has been working for 7 years with no issues.

3400 Fraser Street in Aurora CO is being mis-located on the TND 720. Instead of placing you at the correct 3400 Fraser street location the GPS puts you about 120 blocks south in a residential neighborhood with roundabouts and other unfriendly devices. Just an FYI.

As I type, I'm installing the dock for my new 720. I'll hit the road with it Sunday, so I'll let y'all know how it goes. The old refurbed 500 will be in the truck as a back-up....
    Happy Thanksgiving to all!

As I type I'm downloading the first map update. I broke down and purchased the lifetime updates, since I missed the boat on the freebie offer when I bought the TND 510 back in Feb.

I've noticed a couple of places where the map shows me driving to the side of the highway. One such place is south of US-400 on Ks-99 Hwy, north of Howard, KS. The other is US-169 Hwy north of Coffeyville, KS. I'll see on Monday if the map update may correct the one on US-169.

My 710 did the same thing after 2 months. I sent it in for warranty, and it came back worse. Flashing screen and a dead battery. Will not run unless plugged in, and freezes up anyway. I am about to send it back in again. I requested a new unit, but was told that would not be possible until it happens a 3rd time. They also offered me a 720 for $200 if I trade in my 710. Ridiculous.
For $400 I expect a lot more than that.

Let me know if it did not. Rand is testing the next map set and we can verify if you find this has not been corrected.

    Thanks,
    mark

Have you done as I suggested with the USB end of the DC cord? Lightly squeezing it to provide a more snug fit.

    Thanks,
    Mark
