Are there any drivers on this forum that are running the midwest van regional. I am curios how many miles you seem to be getting on average.

I used to run Midwest Regional flats (last year) and averaged around 2500 doing flatbed and was home every weekend.

I only know one Driver out of Mogadore that runs Midwest Regional. I wish I would have seen this thread earlier because I saw him at the yard yesterday and would have asked him. Sorry about that Drivers.

I get about 2700 a week.most of my loads start in chicago or wisconsin going to atlanta or allentown
Sour Dough Thanks this. -
On Midwest Regional do you ever have to go to NYC? I love my job except when I get stuck driving out to the NE.
-
When you run MW they tell you that 80% of your loads will be Midwest, which leaves them open to sending you east coast. I used to complain about getting sent east when I was mw and my fm would always remind me 80%. Then I got a brand new fm and suddenly I never left Midwest. So I guess it depends on your fm.

I switched to midwest a couple of months ago. My miles are about the same as before with shorter runs stacked back to back. I also like the fact that I get through the house at least long enough to have lunch with the family and restock the truck's pantry. My experience was that I was always regional anyway, it's just they would get me as far from home and then give me dumpy runs either in the southeast or worse running the east coast. Now if I go out of the area I tend to get an equally long trip back home.

I love driving down in the southeast. It's the east coast that bothers me. I just had my first trip to NYC a while back. It was a three stop load, so I got stuck doing a lot of driving around in that place. I feel very fortunate to have gotten through that without any kind of incidents, and as a result, I don't want to go back. It's to the point for me that I'm considering looking for another company that doesn't even go there.
I love my job when I drive in the midwest and the southeast. I hate it when I end up on the east coast. I love working for Roehl too, but it's not worth it if I have to drive in NYC. It's just not worth the stress for what we get paid.skyviper73 and Treefork Thank this.
