Let me make another point. I seen in another thread about.you raving about Trucks, Inc being a good company and "one of the best kept secrets"....
So explain their HOS record

I don't know about all companies but I have been keeping track of Heartland's CSA just about every month this year, and it keeps getting better every month. my notes from this year...
MAR 14.6
APR 14.6
MAY 13.4
JUN 13.2
JUL 12.7
AUG 12.6
SEP 12.6
OCT 12.5
I am not aware of any company that is widely known that has a better vehicle maintenance score than that. That is just the vehicle maint portion, but if you combine all the categories they are still showing as the best combined scores.
To the other peoples points, it is both the drivers and the company that make a CSA score good. If either isn't doing their job, the score will not be good. Vehicle maint score comes mostly from drivers doing their inspections, equipment that is in good shape, a good maintenance program, and the company making repairs when they are found. -
a driver i know personally with one of the megas tried to adjust his tandems, wheels would not lock
he takes the trailer to TA for them to adjust them, calls his shop for approval
shop says, these brakes cannot be adjusted (margin of error blah blah blah) and refuses the repairs, they say bring it to the shop (1,000mi away)
he wound up dropping it during a drop and hook
now, in an ideal world, he would have left the trailer there, and reported the company
real world is much different -

I wonder how many people actually pay attention to this stuff and know what it affects and what it means....Shaneoboy21 and The Challenger Thank this.

Heartland actually got the number 1 spot overall for a month. Then Crete took over again. Crete does very well though. As does Heartland, who I work for. Remember, these are using numbers for OTR truckload carriers. Not private fleets. Or LTL. There are some of each of those types of carriers much better than any truckload company.

That's a pretty big range of scores! ACT has 21.2% for the 24 month period...which is pretty good.
