The answer I get all the time is..."But you are the professional". If everyone remembered that, put it into practice, and the powers that be "respected" that....then maaayyyybbbbeeee the roads could be a little safer. But alas, the bfi's will still hire people they shouldn't, outlaws will still run the roads, and 4 wheelers will still remain "untrained" to the rules of the roads. Oh, but to dream. LOL

I don't know the exact mile marker of the wreck BUT it's 65 mph and then 75 towards Beaumont. Some of the photos suggest this occurred in the mm 832 - 35 area which is 75.

Bayou, what's the sticker on the first impact?

    Just a thought.

Have any of you guys ever seen those big signs that say "FOG AREA"?... there's a big one (probably cost the taxpayers every bit of $100K) on I-91...

Can't say I've ever seen fog there though.

You'd think maybe the fog would know that's where it's supposed to go.

The debris, skid marks and damaged median were in this area, and I do believe it is 75mph through there:

Common sense and good judgement are just about dead it seems. No matter what the weather. I also don't like the "I'm a better driver than you, I know what I'm doing." attitude that so many people (cars or trucks) have today. So many people are paying the ultimate price for their behavior.

This thread has gotten the attention of the media.

    http://news.yahoo.com/texas-highway-pileup-time-slow-super-truckers-down-192952804.html

    An excerpt:

Further down in the article, they quoted flyingmusician's post #7:

And brsdb3381's post. (post #2 in this thread)

But it's got the namby-pamby whiners up in arms, crying for slow truck speed limits.

I'll accept a lower speed limit for trucks, as long as truckers can submit dash cam video to highway patrol that can be used to write tickets to aggressive 4 wheeler drivers. Heck, most of the big companies limit to under 70 anyway.

I had several pass me, cut in with less than 2 car-lengths, then BRAKE for the exit last week going through Louisiana and Texas.

Of course, the next complaint from 4 wheelers will be that trucks are hindering the traffic flow because they're moving too slowly.
