I have a 2011 International Prostar Plus through Western Express (I don't recommend them) and right now I am sitting in Drums, Pa with the stop and check engine lights on. I added oil, coolant, and the other fluids are right where they need to be. It did an automatic regen yesterday morning and I am sitting here doing my 34 hour reset. So while I am on my down time, I want to know what's wrong with this thing...it was in the shop for a week and a half...ran great until now. What can I do to get the lights to go off? I want to self fix it if I can...suggestions? I am trying to make it home for my 3-4 days of home time. I blame myself for where I am right now...I should have gotten a Cascadia uggh...so frustrated!!

There's almost nothing you can do in the field as a driver to deal with those lights. A trip to the dealer is about all you can do. Probably Monday? What was the problem last time it was in the shop for a week and a half?
Happy thanksgiving , hope your luck changes for the better! -
Stop and check engine lights usually mean the engine is seeing the DPF loading at level 4, which is game over for you. Level 4 requires a laptop to run the regen. Driver controls will not work.

DPF Lights on? Oil Pressure?

It just did a regen, how can it get to level 4 so quick without going through levels 1 to 3 first??
-
Had a similar problem on my Volvo with an ISX Cummins. Kept saying regent required, check engine light would come on, finally it derated. Turned out the DPF was toast, it kept trying to regent but couldn't. The only clue was when the techs at the Buffalo Truck Center in Buffalo, NY took it apart to clean it and the DPF came out in pieces.
The pressure differential sensors were also bad. After everything down there has been replaced, I've had no problems, knock on wood, lol. -
Yes, like PackRat said, sometimes the regen is doing nothing because the DPF is already plugged to capacty or damaged internally. There could sensor problems and it is reading the differential pressure wrong.

Also the AFI (Aftertreatment Fuel Injector) could just simply be clogged and not letting enough fuel out to get the Temps. up. What kind of work did you just have done? EGR Cooler?
