Just approved to start USX orientation in Colton CA onthe 26th. Looking forward to working for a bigger established company as opposed to fighting with worn out equipment and shady independent bosses who dont want to pay layover pay, breakdown pay, fix their trucks unless absolutely necessary, keeping my detention pay thinking I dont know they were paid it by the shippers. Been through a lot of rough patches in this my first year of driving paying my dues but the future is looking better and better.:biggrin_25525:

And tolls are being added to more and more roads to keep the upkeep on them now. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so much.

Hope you enjoy, I think it is a company which tries at least. Most of their terminals were pretty good, free washer and dryers, showers, etc. My husband worked for USX in 2008 when the freight really fell. He had some good DM's, and of course the ones with no clue. He was company and drove a Volvo automatic; I went with him for a year and it was great because of the room in it. We'd stay out about 3 mo at a time before going home which is not a good idea if you have any kids. He was paper log then, don't know if they still use them or not now.

ONe thing, I don't remember who it was on TTR, but they ended up with an overweight scale ticket. USX says it doesn't have to be weighed if under 38,000. If in doubt, scale it, better to waste $10.00 then getting a $200.00 plus ticket that you may have to pay.
