Planning on attending Millis Richfield training in January. What may I expect. How is the general attitude towards a newbie, that has very little experience in a semi, have had some experience shuttling trailers at my current job, but not really going through all gears. Any info greatly appreciated. Looking forward to starting my career in trucking, nervous, but happy enough to have this opportunity to start this career with a top notch company.

I live in central Illinois. Have been researching several companies and haven't heard anything bad about Millis. Will good reviews just curious how things go at Richfield haven't found anything in the forums about training in Richfield and other people's experiences there. Planning on paying my 100.00 deposit in the coming few weeks and was wondering if it would be advisable to pay the full 500.00 upfront.

You pay the remaining $400 the 1st day of class, the $100 upfront is to reserve your spot in class.

The teacher in Richfield is a 3 million mile guy. I did not go there but have heard from others his techniques are top notch. I have met him and seen him interact with students. Excellent choice!

500.00 down payment being made tomorrow. For January 14th class in Richfield. Need info on per diem, non per diem, hhg, and practical. As in reading other posts I'm going to have to make a decision and would like to know the best route to take. I must also say Alice is wonderful to work with and has been very willing to answer any of my questions.

The experience begins January 14th in Richfield. 500.00 deposit paid in full. Received info pack email, printer is going to get a work out, and may start to experience writers cramp.

Application process seemed quite easy at first, filled out online application almost 1 month ago. Didn't take long to get a response approx 2 weeks. Called I believe 2weeks ago just to check on status was told they were waiting on my background check, called back last week, told me everything came back good and application would be further reviewed. Got a call about an hour later saying I was approved. Alice was very informative and willing to answer any questions I had. They do require you to pay the 100.00 deposit upfront to reserve your seat in class and send you the required info pack, then pay the other 400.00 on the 1st day of class, I opted to pay the full 500.00 that way I didn't have to worry about it later. I've done quite a bit of research on other companies and schools, but seemed to keep hitting brick walls, either not living in the hiring area, Illinois is a closed state which makes it hard to find company sponsored training, or low pay after signing on and bad reviews. Still have not heard anything bad about Millis.
