Fozzy, tyson in Ottawa, IL, Cosco in Morris IL, Target in Cedar Falls IA, are all delivery points. And yes there is a Kraft plant, oscar meyer in the quad cities, never delivered there, but did pick up there.

I forgot all about the Tyson plant in Ottawa, been there several times, usually deliver, wait a day and a half and pick up there. never been to the other two. I have a friend with a roofing business who has a warehouse right down the street from Oscar Meyer, I always thought that would be the perfect place for me but it doesn't look like we do a whole lot there, there is usually only one or two trailers on site whenever I have been by there. Who knows. I had a trainer who mentioned the Target in Cedar Falls, which is only about 1.5 hours from the house, he said he usually got loads into there from over in the west somewhere if I remember correctly. Maybe produce. Just looking forward to seeing my Kissey Monster. Well, I guess it's time for some shut eye. Good Night TTR Land!
Corporal_Clegg Thanks this. -
There is a Kraft plant in Mason City too, although as with TLea I only picked up there...
Be prepared for a meat load coming out of there though. There is a Tyson plant in Joslin just 6 miles up the 88. -
be careful what you wish for
Holiday messed up the shipper for our Friday am pickup but we haven't stopped since:
North Carolina to Laredo, Laredo to Charlotte, Charlotte to Miami... all tight windows, like 60+ avg mph to make OTD.
IF we can keep this load for the next 3 days, ...5,300 miles for the week! (crossing fingers)Corporal_Clegg Thanks this. -
Hopefully you get out of South Florida without too much trouble... I hear that can be a bear sometimes, although after coming through snow the Cascades on Wed., Miami sounds kind of nice right about now LOL

Well, no luck on an early delivery. Guess I'll be kicking it here in Lubbock at least until tonight.

Fozzy. We deliver and PU from Americold in Cedar Rapids. Also there's the meat patch in Waterloo.
Rule of thumb is if you empty out 100 miles or less from home, there isn't a problem. We'll deadhead you.
If you time things right and make yourself available, you are in a prime area to repower a load coming thru Davenport in the evening.
Any given evening we have three or four trucks passing thru that need repowering.
Saves a wait in the patch after coming off hometime.Corporal_Clegg Thanks this. -
When I took time off in Fl, I never cared if they had freight out or not, lol...
I actually had to ask for a 10 hour break so I could get some sleep, we're already on our way out now...
Gawd I love Florida weather... -
100 miles or less???? Stevens has never worried about that with us!!! When we head to Detroit they usually deadhead us from Chicago area...almost 300 miles. When heading to Knoxville, TN we usually deadhead from Smyrna...175 miles. We actually got lucky this time, a Perdue dedicated driver repowered us in Monterey, TN at the Perdue plant and delivered our load to NC, only 90 miles DH. (DM was planning on a Nashville repower)
