Volvo 670, reverse light not working

    Is there a switch, that activates the reverse light when the shifter is in reverse position. My reverse light on the volvo 670, wont turn on when backing.....i changed the light no help, looks like no power.... any ideas what to look for..btw this this has a 13 speed manual transmission in it !!!!!!!!

    switch is on top of tranny, wires run to LCM. LCM activates truck and trailer reverce light.

    it is about version 2.

    pre 02 volvos got small relay in dash.

    what year is truck? I can help you find the problem

    First of all use dashboard computer to read actual LCM codes (MID 216), if no fault code related with truck and trailer rev. light it would be bad rev. swithc wiring, I use to jump wires on MCFC connector under hood to dtermine problem location (in cab ore chassis wiring)

    do you need wiring diagram of LCM?

    to actuate Rev. light ground LC2:2 input on LCM (wire 411 on MCFC connector and on LCM input connector).

    Thanks Pablo, I changed the reverse switch, and it made the light work !!!!!!

    yep, you can. all volvos of Version 2 share wiring till nowdays, but they add some units with additional wiring easy to get diagrams. Really LCM is the same from 02 to 2013
