    1. What types of makes/models/year trucks does Schneider use?

    2. What can you put in a truck. Say I want a PS3, TV, and fridge is that possible to all be hooked up?

    3. New driver pay what is it?

    4. Do all the trucks come with satellite radio?

    5. What is the idle policy?

    6. How are the trainers?

    7. As a new driver is it a good company to work for?

    Thank you in advance!!

You should research the boards and find the thread "schneider trainer craps himself." I think it had something to do with a trainer who only allowed the consumption of cheetos and mountain dew on his truck and #### his britches on a regular basis. Also, beware of the ol' "regional and ltl opportunity" spin. If you're a noob, they'll rope you in with lots of ltl talk. Yeah right. Those opportunities aren't for you. Home time is 3 days for every three weeks out, so don't expect to get home much your first six months.

So in general how often do the drivers get home who are OTR? I would expect they want the drivers to be out 4-6 weeks at a time.

Another question I have is how are the drivers treated by the company? Are they treated well and with respect and everything? Or are you just a number and they really don't care about your personal issues if there are any?

They suck just like the rest of them. Might get a nice truck to take home to show Mommy though. I really think that's what is important to most drivers because the pay is brought to everyones attention here on the forum and on the websites of all these types of outfits.

Some companies have it so the trucks shut off if your are trying to idle the truck in 31 degree weather but it has to be 30 or below to idle or something like that. Just wondering what Schneider does.

You're more likely to get a crap trainer than a good one. Sad but true. For those not in the know, here is why trainers, well, train...

Six months or so after a new driver has driven for their company "successfully" (eg they didn't kill anybody on the road), they'll receive a message from corporate asking if they'd like to train. The benefit to training is that you keep ALL of your students miles, thereby making is easier to run more loads and make more money. It's a catch 22 though, because your trainee often times isn't skilled enough to run double the miles you'd run solo. This, more often than not, pisses off the trainer who had dollar signs in their eyes and expected a mega pay day. Flash forward a week or two later and that trainer kicks their student off the truck and requests another, hoping against hope that the next poor schlub they get will be skilled enough to drive like a co and stupid enough to get paid like a student. Keep dreaming a-holes, keep dreaming...

between 20 and 70 the truck will not idle longer than 4 minutes with this temp sensor they are installing on these trucks. If you want the toys you listed , seek a job elsewhere.

The company is fair enough. told up front you wont be paid for all routed miles, they use HHG guide. May not seem like much per run , but it WILL add over time.

may be true with other companies, but this was no where near the experience i had. Stated goal was to get me as basic road ready as safely as possible. Mission accomplished.
