As others have mentioned go 12 guages way.....had the kit on my truck for about 2 years...Love it.....comes with everything you need....rides great.....no complaints.....plumbed and installed in 7-8 hours.....the only issue I ran into was when I pulled the n14 out and put my 6nz cat in last year when fully dropped front oil pan plug hit the top of the axle....easy fix with a 1/4 shim under the bag mount....got a couple friends running the same kit with same results......

I lucked out and my Lowmax came with the lowered suspension already (ordered to be a car hauler) but in my spec sheet I see it has a 8" drop axle. Maybe you can get the look you want with just getting a dropped front axle and then the 255's on the rear??

Thank you for the replies everyone. I'm going to pull the trigger on the 12 gauge kit. I should have it in a few weeks. I will start a new thread with before and after pics and step by step photos of the installation.

slammed, all of the points above ARE NOT VALID!!!!!! Hey stupid, If you have to ask you wont understand! It wont screw with your weight distribtion and taildragon does Not have the first clue about the "engeineering" involved! It wont torque the frame and if you keep the bags seperated from each other it improves the handling. The 22.5s will change your final drive ratio 5 to 10% or more. The effect on the drive line angle will be negligible and more weight on the rear drive is retarded! Dropping the front end wont give you any noticable differance in fuel economy. I built the air bags on my front end , a 379 Pete, just like you mentioned and I love it!!! If I told all the things I did to my truck all these nay sayers heads would explode! So, build on brother and leave these guys who dont know enough to know what they dont know here and get busy doing the cool s*** they have always been to SCARED to do!!!!!

I hope that you are never involved in an accident after changing the OEM design on your truck, especially an accident that someone got hurt in or worse yet was killed, by the time the attorneys and investigators are finished with their investigation, you will be required to set in the witness stand and give an account for the "engeineering" on your truck and why it was changed, and I hope that you can give a better answer than you wanted your truck to look cool. Prepare to be eaten for lunch, and possibly sent to prison.

Oh, and to help with your question buy the most cost effective kit that has the bags and brackets and then get the solinoid valves that the low riders use, you'll need 4, 1 up and 1 down for each side. The clearance between your oil pan and axle is the determining factor. The wiring and plumbing is simple. I'm still running my bags tied together on a air switch to dump and use a regulator to control the ride height. If you go this route dont use larger than 1/2 inch line between the bags for stability.

Dont think you're any better off if you find yourself in that situation because those same people are going over your log book, maintenance records. Does your log book match to the tee? Did you break the speed limit, at all? Got any cough syrup in the truck or medication. How well did you sleep last night? Do you have undiagnosed sleep apnea? How 'bout a tv in the truck? Oh yeah you're going down too! So, modified or not, drive defensivly and professionally and live your life to the fullist!! And if you mod it, When in doubt build it stought!! But I'm rarely in doubt!

I am in agreement with what you say here, but if you are in an accident it doesn't have to be your fault, all they have to do is make it appear to be your fault to the jury. The original post ask pretty much for any and all comments, that tells me that he wants to weigh it all out for himself, why not give him all the information. In hindsight, looking back on all the years in this industry, I would add one more thought to this mix. Why not take the twenty five hundred bucks and invest it in your family, I have never found a lot of "extra" money in this industry for throwing away, having said that, why not just invest that money in your family and let it pay you dividends for the rest of your life, rather than an expensive "cool" looking toy?

Taildragon, all of the advice you gave in post #3 was WRONG, but you spoke as if it were fact. Stick to commeting on areas in which you have Some expertise. I'm sure you have plenty of experience to draw from but bomb'ing trucks is not one of them! Like you said "leave it to those who have expertise" in the area. Just because you don't "understand" or "like something" is no reason to throw out misinformation.

as to post #18: Information is one thing MISinformation is another! And just because you have'nt found extra money does not mean others have'nt! Maybe he does'nt have a family yet or maybe he's like me and all his equipment is paid for. Whatever the reason for people bomb'ing their trucks, at least be honest and say its not your thing and dont try pulling people into the ruts that you've lived your life in.

    Better Off Modified Baby !!!!!!!!!

Why are you having such a problem understanding post #1? If you can't grasp post #1, then why should anyone consider any thing that you proclaim as fact yourself?
