My attitude on the favoritism stuff is this. Yes they have their favorites, but what the #### can you do about it? Not a ####### thing is what you can do. Why complain about something you can't do anything about? I run legal 99% of the time, the other 1% are those rare times when I can't be legal and on time. It's either one or the other in those situations, but they're really uncommon for me. I don't have many bills, but the ones I have are paid (usually well in advance) and I almost always have something left over to put away in savings when all is said and done. I'm not married and don't have children, but the case could also be made that if you have those things then OTR might not be for you to begin with. If I had been married and had a kid at age 21 when I decided to go to driving school, I would still be a meat packer at Publix's deli meat plant in Lakeland and still driving my old 98 Cadillac Deville with no a/c

I'm in the same boat. No wife, kids, house, car payments, etc.... Car insurance and cell phone bill is all I have right now. The hard part is that I've been of the road for about a 1 1/2 by the time the dr will ok me and all my meds are out of my system for DOT, so ALOT of carriers even with good record/background aren't wanting to take me or its a mega trainer. I really REALLY think IRT would be good for me despite some of the past post's! I'm not opposed to making things happen when I'm held up somewhere or to get somewhere on time, however the days of sleeping 4hrs to make %600 a week is just not my idea of trucking anymore. I'd be happy to run legal or close to legal and make at least $600 before taxes, anything more is just added bonus.
I was told IRT would need 1 year otr in 3 and if that holds up in march I'll put my app in. I wish i could do it sooner, but giving the meds plenty of time to get out of my system and for my dr to look me over in the next cpl months. I'll keep watching this thread as I put the time in on all 300+ pages, so a couple more months of info won't hurt!
If anyone is willing to pm about specifics with these guys that would be great! Any info on this place I can gather the better!!! Thanks again, and socal, don't think I don't appreieacte your info posted

the issue was picking up the load before 1am. Driver had already burnt 8hrs of his drive time going from Orleans, Mi down to Indy. And now they want him to be in Chaseburg, Wi by 1am, can't do that leaglly.. Selective reading at it's best.
But dont worry, it got pick'd up on time, and delivered early.
I know, i'm not one to actually all of the travel time to get a load somewhere. Never understood why some like to take the full 3/4 to bring juice up from Florida.
It's easy to figure out. Jus know how to do basic math and you'll be good. I was on ELogs and always wish'd i could drive a little longer while i was still awake, so i could sleep a little longer later, or wish i didn't burn 3hrs to go 50mi.
ELogs will be the death of someone..I'd rather drive while i'm wide awake in the middle of the night and sleep during the day, than have to drive during the day because if i dont i'll just loose those hours. I've been on both sides of the fence, like it better over here.
He's suppose'd to be the Ops Manager or something like that. I normally only go inside at night so i dont know what he looks like
The new hours for Pay Roll, when we need to have trips turn'd in so they'll make it on pay roll because of the holiday. The funny thing was that on a Friday he sent a message saying trips would have to be in on Friday in order for them to make it onto payroll.
Wasn't really complaining about the favoritism was just letting the driver know what goes on over here at the River, and just how bad it was. And you're right, there's nothing i can really do about it other then quit, maybe right after i make me a few more dollars, the income potential over here is the only reason i'm somewhat happy and content. Would be even happier if this truck had an actual turning radius.socal Thanks this. -

whatever you say dude, that driver is the one who said he could do it, 95% of the time you can be late on pickup or delivery anywhere irt goes chaseburg is no differnt, but wtf do i know right. -
The question wasn't if the driver could do it or not. It was if the River would try to get him to do it knowing he wouldn't be legal according to HOS. Dispatch knrw when that driver load'd and knee how many hours were burnt to get to the receiver. Dispatch was also informed of the time that would be need'd to make it to pickup the next load. But dispatch still wanted to know. And I'm pretty sure the load was already behind schedule because per dispatch "it had to be out by 1am or 2am" it was one of them times.
I haven't been here as long as many, but I know what I do and I do it well. I'm a grown man and I can make my own decisions. If it ain't right and I don't want to do it, then it won't happen by my hand. I could care less about what lable someone puts on me. If it ain't right and I jus dont give a dayam, then hang on because it's going to be a wild ride. -

I have been out since October 5. Going home December 23. In the past month, I have been in the shop three different times for a grand total of 15 days. Three problems, three different visits to three different shops. The first problem was a grinding turbo. Down 3 days in Albuquerque. Second problem was the cooling system going through 2 gallons of antifreeze everyday. Down for a whopping 8 days in Dallas due to the thanksgiving holiday and having to order an EGR cooler from the cummins factory since no other shops in the area had one in stock. Took forever and a day for it to arrive. Now I'm in Portage Indiana at Great Lakes Peterbilt (since Thursday) waiting on them to fix the regen system because I was having to do a manual regen every time I stopped, and it ended up with the stop engine light coming on and not letting me to do one.
On the day I arrived in Albuquerque, I had 1200 bucks in savings and would likely be close to 2 grand right now if none of this crap had ever taken place. Now I have a whopping 3 dollars and waiting on tomorrow's check to go in the bank just so I'll be able to eat tomorrow and make a payment on my F150 so the lienholder will stop leaving automated voicemails on my phone. -
