I just got off the phone with a recruiter I felt like I was being interagated and he pretty much hung up on me. I don't know if I should try again or not. This sucks. this was my first choice

About to head into the slowest time of the year for freight. I suspect companies get pretty picky about now
Raydar Thanks this. -
I think everything is finally coming together I passed my Hazmat go tomorrow to get my fingerprints. Talk with someone at US xpress and I am faxing over some new paper work and things should come together after that.
Thanks again Wedge you were helpfulWedge, NoCoCraig and raetnrunner Thank this. -
Well, as much as I am going to hate riding the bus, I leave at 8:15Am on Monday to go to Dallas.
So.............
We shall see if they take my work history I have read they are pretty uptight about that I don't have my W2's pre say but I do have Turbo Tax print outs. My only worry with that is that it doesn't have the employers name on it.
anyway I won't bore you with my worries I just hope I can get on with US. Oh I got a Team member before I was even told to go to oreintion. so once we get through the training I will be out on the road hopefully.raetnrunner and Wedge Thank this. -
Contact old employers and prep them for the USX call.

My road to go to US Xpress has ended. I am not going to bad mouth the company(I will try to do my best not to) but, they need to change the way they do one part of a test. The duck walk. I am 6'5 over 350 pounds I can squat and stand straight up my legs are like a LBers in the NFL they are the strongest part of my body. I had no probelms with the other parts of the test in fact most of the others in my orientation were smokers and I had the lowest HR towards the end out of all of them and I wasn't sweating after the last part of the test either. which most of the smokers were. I was a warehouse worker I did that type of work I unloaded 2500 boxes of all shapes and sizes I can pick up big ### metal filters that weight over 100 pounds but most of the time used a forklift oh yeah I did that too. so your losing out on a very skilled person that would have worked hard for your us xpress.
I have no problems walking like the duck under s truck but a LINE ON A WALL that has to be set in stone that if you can't do it then you fail no questions asked period DONE. I have no problem getting under the truck and walking like a duck. I have witnesses that say they have seen me do it I did it every day while in trucking school.
it was a waste of my time I do not like having my time wasted. I can't complain to much because the bus ride from Cali to Dallas was paid for they put me up in a hotel but US Xpress really should consider doing THAT part of the test under a truck. Before the drive test they could make them do it. It wouldn't be that hard. I don't believe that a line on a wall is a fair way to test someones ablity to walk under the truck
I got a e mail today telling me that the turnover rate in trucking is staying above 100% and I can tell you why because
In my orientation, we had a former drugie(nothin wrong with that btw) and my roomate had a DWI. Most of the people probley have done something in there life I guess the DWI was over year old or whatever it has to be.
just a little bit about me. I have never been put in jail. Never done drugs never drank a beer in my life its my choice because of what I have seen it has done to my family and I don't want to go down that road. I have a clean driving record I had my W2's I was all set. I would have worked #### hard for this company they lost out on a good person and a good driver. I got to tell myself that god has another plan for me.
I can also tell you why I mention there was a former drugie because dodd mention how people were or could get fired and there is always the possiblity that they could relapse not with me I won't touch the stuff never have never will period.
Dodd is a cool guy and all BUT it was like he didn't even care though and from what I read big trucking compaines don't really care. I will stop there cause there are good people at US xpress
The bus ride was bad but I don't blame that on US xpress we had a guy buy beer and had the police called on him. a guy held up the buss because of what the driver said to him he asked him not to yell from the back of the bus to the front the guy did that pissed the driver off and he all most got thrown off for it. then because the bus was so full he had bags of stuff in a seat where someone could sit the seruity had to come on the bus to help him move his bags.
The hotel was nice but before I left we had come back to the hotel and pulled up. two black guys were kinda around the corner of the hotel from the main entrance we we pulled up in. one had the other up against the wall and the way he acted it was like he had some type of weapon finally he let go of him one of them started to kick and then he punched the window of a car. not sure whos car it was but someone wasn't going to be happy the hotel manger was trying to tell him to leave I stayed in the van had my phone on the dash he saw it and asked if he could use it the hotel manger told him again to leave thats when he started to hit him and kick him. the driver got out and one hit the black guy was on his ###. He told everyone in the van he did MA. anyone I got to the bus on time and back home ok
just disappointed but I will keep on journey. -
That totally sucks. So sorry.
I have friends that drive for Celedon and love it. Also have happy friends Western Express -
