Load/unload trucks?

I look at it this way, I didn't go to trucking school to load or unload trucks.

 

The reason I did it is because I made an extra $200-$500 weekly unloading my trailer. That allowed me to contribute the maximum to a 401K out of my regular pay plus paid for all my road expenses plus extra money each week for the little wifey & kiddies at home. It was very hard work at times, but it allowed me to save enough to plop down enough cash to pay for 4 condo's in the Orient; 3 for rental and 1 keep open for me. I'm looking at another one now that's priced right. It's all about planning for a worry free retirement in the future; at least that was my reason.

What else could cdl stand for ?

 

that may work until you try to operate one of those hi-powered machines and run into one of those 30' shelves and the entire thing collapse on you

 

sad thing about those lumpers and the fees, very little goes to the actual lumper

firstly, the house gets 50% off the top
the company gets 25%
and workers split the remaining 25%

so if the lumper fee costs $200, the actual worker gets $50

 

If you want to load and unload trucks, come to the dark side of trucking. Us bed Buggers (movers) always load and unload. Excellent workout, and provides a Challenge. Nothing beats where i'm going to be Monday. 20th floor apt in downtown Chicago now that's a workout. But then again you can always hire a few lumpers. The moving industry will also challenge your driving skills, constantly putting trucks in places trucks shouldn't be.

 

I notice Bekins running lots of ads lately for drivers.

 

When I took my CDL training many years ago, I was never taught anything about pallet jacks, loading or unloading, securing a load or being a Lumper... I was taught to drive a reticulated vehicle.

Now... what was that question?
