wait... fail "Training" as in: "hey, got my CDL and now it's travelling about with a trainer for a while..." or "Schooling" as in: "I have to memorize all this crap to pass a test, so I can use a book to find out the answers for when I actually have my CDL..?"
what are the reasons students fail the training??

Hush the instructor, speed in construction zones nearly hitting workers, after u graduate go booze it up at a bar with classmates in a company car or do that and get more beers for the hotel while acting a fool, just a few to get sent home real quick that I've heard and seen. Drop a trailer too that one will work too.

I think most people who fail simply don't want it bad to enough to have succeeded in the first place. Rarely, if ever, is somebody whos heart is truly in it going to fail for simply not being able to shift or back. These skills can be learned and acquired with enough practice, I almost guarantee it. And in the rare cases where it can't be theres usually something else going on like, er, mental issues (see; borderline retardation). As mentioned before, trucking attracts lots of long term unemployed individuals and people with criminal backgrounds. The OTR lifestyle is often too disciplined for these people to be successful in. And in some cases it does come down to a terrible trainer. There are plenty of ###### trainers out there, and many students aren't even aware that they can request a new one if they're not happy...

bad shifting cant downshift will get you sent home. pulling out in front of cars at a yield sign and the car has to swerve to get around you. Last but not least...... Driver passed the road test and was pulling into the terminal lot and could not wait for that fast moving car coming 50mph 300' away so he turned in front of it and that got him sent home. bottom line. SAFE SAFE SAFE SAFE SAFE SAFETY.......... THE ROEHL WAY

You won't even make it out of the DMV if you can't downshift so I doubt it. But I have heard stories of students getting their CDLs and then taking out stop signs or mailboxes during their orientation road tests...diegotrader Thanks this.
