One of my boss' trucks has a catwalk that is kinda loose and when the truck is idling, that thing will rattle all night. I only idle it when I have to. In between 40 and 80 degrees I shut it off.

But it seems that those reefers would go to the uninhabited corner to idle because that is where the least amount of trucks are...better to annoy just you than annoy everyone else...kinda utilitarianistic, but seems to make sense.

 

Don't you just hate it when there's trucks at truck stops? Especially the ones that make noises.. I mean, of all places that you would think would be quiet, a truck stop would surely be at the top of the list...

 

Tell me about it. The nerve some people have is amazing. Another thing that bugs me is NASCAR races. I go to the race track to have a relaxing day and read a book, and all day long these incredibly loud cars kept driving by and everyone around keeps yelling.

 

Go to a gun store & get hearing protection. The kind that are like ear muffs work great.

 

REALLY???!!!...as i roll my eyes and walk away.

 

Wish I was there, I'd park my noisy reefer next to your sleeper hammering away all night.

 

I tell you what at 45-50 degrees I am freezing my tail off. I am from CA. and that is #### cold to sleep in for me. But some advice don't be such a little amateur cry baby. It's called a truck stop and just because your crap company won't let you idle doesn't mean squat.

 

Motors and refers don't bother me- its the air leaks and fans cycling every 30 seconds that drives me nuts. Just poor maintenance

 

I own my truck and it gets shut off down into the 20s. Why shell out $40, per night, for wasted fuel, when they sell good blankets for less, that last years?
