Morehouse Truck Line is an 80 year old, fourth generation reefer carrier based in Omaha, NE. We are seeking full time OTR drivers who want to find a company they can retire from. We offer a 401k with a 25% match, health, dental, and life insurance, and Paid Time Off (Vacation time). We allow pets and riders. We do not slip seat. We are a mid-sized (100 trucks) company with family values. We won't lie to you. We have a lease purchase program (after you've been here a while, we don't do "walk-in" leases) Our equipment is top notch! KW's, Freightliners, and Internationals for trucks, Great Danes and Utilitys for trailers, all Carriers for reefers. APU's and E-logs. We run LEGAL. PERIOD. We are in a captive insurance group which means YOUR SAFETY is our NUMBER ONE CONCERN! We run the Midwest (I-70 & I-80) with some California and Canada if you want to. Dependable freight that is consistent. No dedicated but a lot of repeat runs. If you want to get home, we will. IF we can't, we won't hire you in the first place. We don't take everyone. Do you have what it takes?

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Do you use any owner operators?
-
Yes we do have Owner Ops. We have 13 of them. Pull our trailer, we pay for reefer fuel. You pay $100 per month for plates, $40/month for Qualcomm/Elogs, you supply work comp ins or buy a occ/acc policy for $125 per month. TChek fuel card, we have a GREAT shop if your truck needs work too. did I miss anything?

Good post and info! Been following your company for awhile now and find it interesting. What's new on the equipment side? New trucks or new trailers you might be adding in near future? Having good luck with those Cascadias? Reefer link apu? Thanks and good wishes for your company!

Was glad to see this posting and follow it but with most small companies there's not many who know who they are.

You're right Blanche, we are small. Small enough to know your name when you call in to talk to dispatch! Anyone who is interested even if it's just to say "hi" or get a full blown "tour" of the operation, just stop by. Craig in recruiting will be happy to show you around and let you get a feel for the place. If you like it, think about it for a few weeks. If you see one of our trucks, yell at 'em on the CB or go talk to them in person. Our drivers get a recruiting bonus so they should be happy to talk to you. Our trucks look like this...
...that's an old pic, but the colors are the same.
800-228-9378Blanche Thanks this. -
Thanks for the comeback sir! But I was hoping you answer a few of the questions in my earlier post.... But that's ok I appreciate that you have the humbleness to come on this forum and be engaging and enlightening as to the operations of your company! Have a good day!
-
Sorry for not answering your questions. We have had great luck with the Cascadias. We plan on buying 30 more next year (replacements for other trucks, not additions) and we bought 32 new trailers (the blue ones) this year...not sure about future trailer purchases. All of our trailers are CARB compliant so there's no reason to buy new ones right now. Reefer link (IdleFree) APU's are working great.
-
Thank you and I've been seeing a lot of good things about that reefer link setup and I love those blue wrap trailers. Sharp!
