MNdriver, Thanks for the response. I did not realize you could charge the non running truck directly through it's emergency (red) line. I thought there would be a one way check valve or something to prevent this. Glad to hear that is not the case. Thanks for the reply, good advice for sure. Capt Dan...

If you can get the trucks side by side, you can hook the two emergency lines directly together too.

That was my next question...

Never seen a truck with SQHDs locked up where you have to set the brakes and load it?

I love reading threads like this. As a heavy tow operator I have ALL the right equipment to deal with almost all problems. ibflat2 Has A LOT of good points. Pull starts: dont even think about pull starting a loaded tractor trailer unless you KNOW how much force it takes to pull it. There are A LOT of factors especially when it comes to when the truck operator takes his foot off the clutch. ALSO your tow hooks on the front of your trucks ARENT made for what people are using them for. You can do a lot of damage VERY quickly. a pull start on a empty truck in a straight line..sure, but anything loaded.. I wont say What i hook onto, But its NOT those hooks. ALSO, Where on YOUR truck are you going to hook your chain/strap to? I can assure you the cross members at the back of your truck wont support very much, Ill also say theres a lot of risk in the chain/strap slipping and getting your electrical/air lines back there. so what are your other option? your not going to want to pull start with a slow moving low gear like your reverse if your hooking from the front of your tractor. And lets just say you do find good hook-up points.. and your pulling him, he disengages the clutch and your strap or chain snaps.. and it goes through the front of his grill... or his YOUR tail light? whos paying the damage? I understand noone wants to pay a tow trucks rates, and everyone wants to be a helping hand.. but things change when damages happen and people start to point fingers on whos paying.. Leave it to the professionals.. no offence
dukeofearl and MNdriver Thank this.
