After almost 5 & 1/2 years at my current company, I feel it's in my best interest to move on. Which saddens me in a way because I've made some great friendships here, among shop, office and drivers. I've watched the company grow, and if like to think I helped that in some way by the work and time I've put in here. Problem is, things have changed, I can't get rid of my fleet manager ( which is a new thing over here) and I can't get around the BS from the Florida yard. I've got nothing bad to say about them and I wish the company all the success in the world. I just think because if the situations I've been out in by the FM and a few planners, and trust me its not like its only been once or twice, but an ongoing thing, its best for me to leave on good terms before I start to lose it on people and make it bad. So, here's my question. I've been looking around at a few companies, Gordon (who now hires out of my area) Calex, Frock Bros, Kevin Ryman Inc, and possibly Blinsky out of WA ( kinda last on my list because of low pay and hometime). I've got 11 years out here, my CSA score is a 2, the last 7 years doing reefer. I want to be able to run west, I don't mind having to chain up, I don't want to run for under .38/mile ( I know, that's low) and I want to be able to actually drive, not sit at truck stops. I've adapted to E-Logs and can run 4000 miles a week if given the opportunity, I manage my time wisely and don't turn down money at all. Give me the freight and ill get it there safely and on time. Any other suggestions or companies I might be leaving out? I live in the Allentown area, and I don't need to be home every week or even every month. I normally wouldn't even be asking these questions, but I don't job hop and like to stay with a company. I do the research where I can so i can make an educated decision and find a place that is a good fit for me and them. I hate to leave, but I can't stay unless things change and I don't hold hope for it to change. Thanx in advance for any help.

38 cents being low. seems kinda high to me.
the going rate around these parts seems to be about 35 or lower. last year it was 40. -

Marten Transport -
I did interstate b4. They've now switched to a regional company and I was out of their Lebanon, TN terminal. They were not a good fit. Ill check into Marten though.

The farther west you run the less pay usually. I mean some of these loads I see guys running out east that are less than 300 miles is a joke. At my company a load less than that would be a turn back home. Pretty easy to run 500+ a day running west so they pay less and equals out.

Sorry to hear its changed,nothing worse than some fuzz nutts know-it-all that KNOWS his way is better just because he says so.Its not all regional a buddy has been there(Marten) 6 weeks and been to the west coast twice and Tx at least 3 times(I know the honeymoon ain't over ask me again in 6 mo). Also Maverick is up your way they have some refridgerated stuff but I have no idea what they pay a seasoned driver,just another place to check out.Millis pays pretty good around here, but don't know if they are up by you.

Forget about Marten. They are on sliding pay scale and will keep you in one region doing 200 mile loads and picking and dropping the long ones off at the rail.
JBS Carriers .40cpm great insurance. Not sure if it is still going but 5,000 sign on bonus. 6 or so paid holidays at 150 a pop. Don't know how much you will be running 4,000 miles on E logs but will get you out west and back east. Heading to Sacramento from Texas now.joseph1135 Thanks this.
