pays 27% of the load no matter the distance of the load. if u get a 200 miles 1000 load u get 27% of it. if u get a 300 mile 500 load u get 27% of it. so dependant on ur load can make or break a good days pay. You can refuse the load if u feel its not paying enough for your trouble. if u do so be prepaired to sit. trucks are all within 3 years old. 62mph!! thats the killer. peoplenet communications. home weekends and throught the house weekely if its possible. he said most guys gross 1000 hustlers gross 1200 bums gross 800. heard from driver getting pm service and reapirs is difficult since they outsorce companies to do the work. no 401k. benefits after a certain while. 1 week vaca after a year 6 holidays immediate. up here there still running old lj ken and greyson mitchel trailers. some drop n hook. most loads are supposed to be preloaded. driver I talked to didnt seem to happy and was looking for local work. biggest complaint was truckspeed set to low and ####### dispatch. they fell off my radar for now unless i cant get anything local

First day went smooth. Pt test and drug test. We ate really good for lunch. Chicken and dumplings, mac and cheese and chocolate cake. And They gave us 10 bucks to buy dinner. The trucks we are getting are almost new. I really like the way these guys treat everyone. Very friendly and helpful.

Not sure where these numbers come from, but as gross goes, they are way below what I do, and a lot of others I know.
I have not turned down a lot of loads, when I have, it may be a few hours for the next load.
They do use peoplenet for dispatch. They also have E-logs on the system if you want it. Your choice.
Out on the road, almost all service is done by Dealer for any warranty work. T/A-Petro or Speedco for PM work.
Some work can be done at some of the terminals. Just depends on what needs to be done.
I have never had any problems getting any requested repair work done, no matter where I was at the time. Slow sometimes, yes, then you have to get in line at the shop.
Home time. True you can get home almost every weekend, and sometimes during the week. All depends on where your running and what you have on the truck.
Yep still have some of the LJK and Mitchell equipment out in the world. It is going away as it gets sold off. Any really good stuff has been traded in on new stuff.
True, no 401K. They do have an IRA plan you can get in. I think it's 6 months to sign on to that. Also have a number of extra insurance plans if you want.
On Vacation, not sure what they are starting now, I get 2 weeks at this time.
Truck speed......Well they are a bit slow....set to 63 or 64 MPH. Some trucks have APUs. Not a lot. they have been trying different ones to see how they hold up. So far no decision.....
Dispatch...It is what you make of it. For the most part the dispatch people are pretty good. I have a really good one. Takes good care of me, then I try to take good care of here too. Works both ways. I have heard some rumblings that the NJ people are a bit hard to work with. Don't know if it's true or not, never deal with them directly. If they are causing difficulty, it wont last long. Scott and Robbie will not take that well. specially if it causing drivers to leave.Pinkratjr, The Challenger and scooter123 Thank this. -
Just an update. Went through orientation. Got a 2013 Cascadia mid roof, nice truck, not alot of power under a load, but ill make do!!! My first load was about an hour from the terminal. Picked up. Delivered the next day to a job site. Made it home for the weekend and the hurricane!!!
Figured i made 55 cents per mile including my deadhead. Not a bad start. Calling in monday to get started for a 2 week excursion. Figured id stay out 2 weeks and get all my bills caught up. -
I work for P&S and I do pretty well. 15,000 ea quarter and home EVERY weekend. Now I know someone who had a work injury and been off for three months and they are fighting him to the bitter end, when it happened at a truck stop. He had an operation to boot. And now they tell him if he has any questions to contact his attorney to contact them. And still no pay or injury coverage. Their BCBS now thats a joke. 100.00 a week and still 500.00 copay for emergency room visit. Now the CSA2010 for this company is not good. Go check it out here http://ai.fmcsa.dot.gov/sms/ and input their dot # 1243338. I have ezpass and prepass in one unit issued by P & S. almost all loads I have done were drop and hook. Most load are USG for north east. And they are preloaded and tarped, just check and tighten straps add more bungies to hold the tarp and roll. They will audit your logs (paper) too every 15th of every month and if they find something wrong they will violate you by mail. They have a point system they go by depending on the violation they find. After so many points from in house you will be required to go to electronic logs or termation. They seem nice while your in the hiring pool but after that forget it, they want you off the phone with them asap. Since they bought out G.M. the loads aren't as good as if they are teasing the old G.M. drivers to stay on. If you are thinking owner operator thats cool but you must do the 90 days first and then put yourself on the list which is long normally 3-5 months more waiting for a truck thats older than 3 yrs old to open up, then they get you a load back to terminal to talk to the owners and see if you will be profitable according to your loads from the past including all turned down loads. So if you run legal and abide by D.O.T. and P & S rules like you are suppose too you will be ok like the rest of us.
Hope this has helped with anyone wanting info on P&S Transportation AL. terminal. -
Im still running good. Loads pay good. Had a couple of low paying steel loads, but it averages out with the good payers. I like the company, but standingtall is right, they dont care to talk to you, just keep moving and dont bother them is the way it seems. Getting ahold of anyone when ive had an issue seems to be a problem. I do alot of sheetrock too. The loads pay great, but like every drop and hook operation, the last guy with the trailer didnt seem to bother with a pretrip or taking the time to get a light fixed, etc. so its idiots like me who are always in the shop because im not getting a ticket over something dumb like a marker light.
The money is here though and i think if you run legal, and do your job it will be a good place to work. Im making money and getting my bills caught up..TDriver4Life Thanks this. -
Its been a month and still satisfied. Money is great and im home every weekend..
TDriver4Life Thanks this. -
i talked to a lot of drivers, not one said anything bad about them.. but after i was one of them it changed to this ______ company they are _____holes,and all the good stoped. and i can see why.
