Congrats Sewerman! I just got the 1 year message on my qualcomm on Thursday.

AS for the popularity of this and the larger Maverick threads on this site, it is great to see that their popularity is growing and the number of people reading them and following them continues to get larger by the day it seems. I know that alot of us regular posters/current Maverick drivers like to get on here and talk to our current driver friends and all of the curious new guys/ladies who are wanting to know more about why we are so happy with our company.

    sewerman and JimTheHut Thank this.

Well, I have learned to try to live life one day at a time. I have looked at other companies from time to time, just to keep up with what is out there. There are some good ones, but I have not been given any offer that far exceeds what I have here at Maverick. There would be no sense in making a lateral move.
So I guess as long as Maverick continues to do things the way they have been doing them, and as long as no one gives me an offer that I just can not refuse.....in or out of trucking, I will probably be here!

    jxu417 Thanks this.

Started of the week by driving to Gary for a 12:00 appointment on my truck. I got there at 10 and they had me out by 12:00 which was very nice. I was on my way up to Wisconsin, so I drove on up and spent the better part of the afternoon at the scale house just inside Wisconsin. Large lot and they have a rest room that is open 24hrs. It was a very quiet afternoon. I even broke out my dreamcast and played nfl football.
I was only 5 miles from the power station. When I got there the guards had no idea who I was supposed to see. So I called the number on the bol only to get a voice message. So I called back to the shipper and he gave me a name of who I was to see. Gave that to the guard and then, he knew who to contact. The other three trucks got there soon afterwards.
After I got unloaded, I got a load to pick up at US Steel in East Chicago In. I went back through the yard and loaded up with ice and then headed down to the Mill.. This load was going to Randall Metals in Salisbury. After I was loaded and almost to I 65, I got the call that I had to go do the drug test. So I went back to the yard and got that taken care of.
I stopped at the Flying J at the 123 in Spiceland since I did not think I had enough time to make to Jeffersonville.
Headed out in the am and made it down to the receiver by about 1600. They stop receiving at 1500, so I was first in line for the morning. They have a port o let so I was good to go in the morning.
Sat for about a couple of hours after unloading and then got a load to pick up at Charlotte Pipe doing a three stopper in and around Washington DC and WV.
I was able to make it to the Flying J at exit 104 on I95 north of Richmond.
I got fuel in the morning and there was a inconsiderate day cab driver that decided to leave his truck parked in front of the fuel island while he did what ever. So I had to back out of the lane and jack the truck around to be able to get on my way.
My first stop was at Thos Somerville in forestville Md. As is often the case, they have to pull off some bundles and then put them back on. The pipe he had to take off was for the same company but my last stop. In the process of putting it back on, he pushed off a bundle of 4 " PVC @ 20 foot. It hit and about 5 pieces broke in a million pieces. He then pushed off two more bundles of 1/2 and 3/4 and the banding broke on both of them. So i took pictures and called safety and marked it on the bills.
They could not find their banding machine, so they just swapped it out for the pipe he had just unloaded.
So I got on my way and am now heading over to Falls Church Va.
As I am going around the inner belt I saw the sign for ez pass lane and a toll. I I just figured it was a toll both. So I got in it. There were no signs that said no trucks. Well I am now in the express lane and passing all of the stopped traffic not in the express lane. But now I can not get off at my exit as there are limited exits in the express lane. When I got off at the closest exit to the one that I was supposed to take, there was a cop sitting there, and he never stopped me ....so I was good.
So I made it down to the stop and got unloaded and now have to go 90 miles to Martinsburg WV.
Got there and got unloaded and went over to the old lowes and thought that I would probably get hung out. I was ok with that. There was a food lion there so I would be able to get my food for the week.
After sitting for a couple of hours, I got the load to head up to Oswego NY....356 mile dead head with a 813 mile run to deliver Sunday or Monday.
ON the way up there it was dense fog in the mountains of PA. At times we were only going 35 mph.
I made it to one of the rest areas and shut down around 1900. More fog in the morning and finally got to the shipper at around 0900.
It took over an hour for the crane operator to get back from his break. Then after getting loaded, chained and tarped, they said that computer said that someone else had picked up my load and that the other two Maverick's that were there, were not even showing in the system.
So I got in touch with Extended Services. After about 45 minutes, they finally got it figured out that they had transposed the numbers that they gave to Maverick.
Made it home last night. Will head out this morning and deliver around 1500 today and then shut down and take it easy in Logan Aluminum's lot. Will be doing a recap this week, so it should be interesting.
Hope everyone has a great week!
Thanks to all of you who contribute to this Thread!
    God Bless!

Do you guys or gals for that matter have kind of a regular "box" that you run from one place to another...or does it tend to be scattered at times. Sorry for the vague post. Lost my train of thought as I was writing. :biggrin_25524:
