What I hate is when you have two.guys with big radios tying up 19 with their inane conversation about nothing in.particular then complain when they see a bear that nobody warned them about that bear. Um.....yeah.

Look, you have control over what happens inside your tractor. You have the right to idle or not idle. Every driver has that right. So, are you telling me that if it's 72 degree's and I want to idle with my a/c on that I have less of a right than you do for decent parking? Having said that, if I come in to a place and know I'm going to idle I will try not to park next to someone who's not. But did it ever occure to you that when you park next to me that your truck not running might bother me? Maybe I have a complex, or something, paranoid delusions maybe. Maybe your trying to sneak up on me with your non idleing truck. You non idleing people, there should be some law that says a man can't turn his tractor off if he's parking next to someone who's running. Jeez, Now if this sounds a little petty, think about some of these posts about idleing. Buy a 12 volt fan and put it in your bunk to help cover the noise, but really, are there not more relevant matters about our life to be worried about.
    whatever,
    b
    be safe.

After a while I got used to all this noise it dont bother me a bit. I prefer not to idle its better on my sleep. But on that same token I will start my truck and idle if I feel like it. I think now adays Im much more worried about getting my bumpers torn off when im at a TS or getting my mirrors torn off. I do take my time to see how u guyz are parked like evenly spaced out on thespace and not ####eyed or too close to the other space. Im pulling into the TS to rest and not to worry how loud is your truck. By the way these new trucks I drive a 11 cascadia have great insulation so that really helps to kill the noise when im not idling. Peace out guyz. MERRY CHRISTMAS! !!!

The other day I had to scale a load at the loves in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. I had to slide my tandems so I parked in a spot because there is just not much room there. Also wanted to get something to snack on. The driver who I parked next too moved because he didn't want to hear my rajin cajun thermo King and I just laughed when I pulled out 5 minutes later.

Never fails for me to park in a spot away from people and the people who park next to me have dry van and flatbed. They must be old chicken haulers and miss that thermo king purring them to sleep:)

Also funny when I have a dry load and I pass up spots next to the flat bed and dry boxes. Then remember hey I don't have my reefer on.

Easy fix. Pull out of the spot, back up then nose into the spot. You will be close to 50 feet away from that banging reefer or more then 50 feet away from that noisy tractor. It is nice and quiet at the back of the truck.

Now this might piss off the guys next to you if you are pulling a van or reefer or some other non flat bed trailer because now they won't beable to see around your trailer.

Another plus is it is always darker int he cab when you nose in because the trailers on each side of you are blocking them beacons they have for lights in some truck stops.

The other is wind protection. No wind to rock your tractor when it is being blocked by trailers.

I think Nosing in is the most dangerous thing you can do. You have no idea what's going on behind you and its just an accident waiting to happen. There is nothing that makes my stomach turn as seeing people do that.

You don't have a hood that can only be found in a few junkyards. I do. Protect the nose.

My stomach would turn more if my hood got ripped off by some 3 week wonder..... Nosing in is no more dangerous as long as you don't have your head up your ### (thats asking a lot I know).....
