Hye guys, I'm considering going to Prime's company-sponsored training. The only thing that scares me is that it says you have to ride with a trainer for 4-6 months...is that true?

That's a part I like. What better training can you have.

not a fan of teaming but at the same time that training will go by so fast and you will be prepared when you go solo. one of the longest training periods around

The quality training I like, but sharing a vehicle with a total stranger for 6 months is a bit much. I'm a sociable and respectable guy with good hygiene, just hoping the trainers are too lol

yeah i hear that im def not a fan of sharing a truck. but one good things is that if you and the trainer get along it will be a great time for that time but there is nothing better than going solo and having your own time . not a fan of the truck moving non stop

Its 30k of miles AFTER you get your CDL. So if you run 5000 miles a week then its only 6 weeks. but if you run 3000 miles a week then it is 10 weeks.
    Hope this helps you.

    silenteagle and huckstah Thank this.

Thanks! That clarifies it for me.

I hope the fact that I've been unemployed for 1.5 years doesn't hold me off. I had to quit my job due to a death in the family and had to focus on legal/inheritance issues for the past 16 months, and I was fortunate enough to have enough money saved up to help me while I've been going through this. I do oddjobs on the side for supplemental income, but its all off the books.

    silenteagle Thanks this.

Unless recent policies have changed, it'll probably be a problem based on quite a few people who have posted around here that they were denied by an irregular work history and undocumented work.

dont let me or anyone discourage you from applying. Your situation might be different.

So... you were employed as the executor of your families estate (hint.) I hope you got some compensation for this... or at least got some money out of it; it shouldn't be a problem to backdate some receipts for this. Did you show any income on a tax return during this period? You may need to get a letter from a family member mentioned in the will indicating that you did this work.
