Im running a 2010 International full size cab/sleeper. I have a Galaxy DX 959 and dual antennas the antenna on the drivers side is the K40 20,000w and the one on the passenger side looks like a basic 100w. I dont have the money to buy a second K40 yet so I started with 1. My question is, will this couse any problems? My SWR is literally at 1 on all channels hardly moves at all and incomming transmitions are crystal clear.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I can't see why having different antennas would make any difference. May skew the radiation pattern a bit, but going around a corner would skew it a lot more... -
Which ever one has the longest whip is probably the dominate antenna. There both 50 ohm antennas so by theroy you can do this. I would not but it ok for you. I would run a single antenna till I picked up the other matching. Personally I think K40 are way over rated.

I didnt think it would but im a newb to CB's and would hate to brake somethink.

I would assume the crappy antenna would just do the crappy job it does wail the K40 would do much better. Whats why I placed the K40 on the drivers side. -
Only problem is both cables are spliced into the same end piece.

Only if you replace the coax as well. Removing one antenna but still running the dual harness will do Bad Things to your radio.TheSquatch Thanks this.

That wire is not 50 ohms IIRC it is 75 Ohms on a "co-phase" setup like that. right or wrong?
-
While there are multiple ways of impedance matching two 50Ω antennas together, using two quarter wavelengths of 75Ω cable is the most common.
The problem is that an unterminated 1/4 wavelength piece of coax acts like a dead short at that frequency...
