I didn't mean old guy in a bad way. Its everytime I see an older person the faster they are. But yes I do Do that cause I want to make sure I hooked them in the right place. So do I lay my chains and binders first then work one side at a time? How do you fold your steal tarps? I do mine like the lumber but is it faster to rub rail them.

Most definitely faster to rubrail. As for the best method its whatever works best for you. Over time you will develop a system that comes with experience. General rule is to work efficiently,ie:getting on the trailer as few times as needed etc. Take a coil for example, after I get the rack set up i get my chains and binders out so that when the coil is set down i can throw my chains thru the eye from the ground. Secure the chains then throw my tarps. Forgot to say i also have my tarps out before loading also. Prepping like this will shave lots of time once your loaded.

I don't use the term old I like to say well seasoned. I'll just say I'm on the backside of 50. Speed does not come by working fast speed comes with working efficiently. I like the term you need to slow down the go fast that way you don't make any mistakes you don't have to do things twice.

I have been flat betting for over 35 years. And I'll have younger guys get pissed off because I am done so fast and I make it look so easy. Like I tell them you have to get what works good for you. Watch other guys the ones that work proficiently and every thing looks real good and there done real fast watch how they do it.

Don't be afraid to go up and ask them you will find out 90% of them are more than happy to show you how to do it. I can't count how many times I tarped coils for step deck drivers. Because they said my coil tarp job look so good I wish I could get my to look like that. That's when I say thank you very much here I will show you the don't take no time to do.

95% of the way I do things is because somebody else showed me. 5% I like that way myself and that's why do. Take your time and before you know it you'll be going faster and faster.

Drive safe and enjoy the ride.

Not low enough as far as I'm concerned but I have high standards.
But it's hard to try to find 1500 drivers with that high of a standard.

It is one big family. Just remember like petticoat Junction and there's uncle Joe he's moving mighty slow at the junction.

I agree...and I like to say, speed comes from repetition...I am amazed at how much easier every thing is after almost three years....I still watch, learn, and adjust as necessary!

Just looking at the Maverick website and had a few questions.

Further explanation of how this works: Earn up to $.065 per mile Fuel Bonus, I know it is possible by reading the MPG thread just wondering how the program works.i.e, certain number of miles at a certain mpg?

    What is weekend guarantee pay?

Can somebody explain in lay man's terms about the pro's and cons of per diem? I have the general idea of how it works..just curious if taking per diem is actually worth it with Maerick and does that change the cpm pay.

Any ideas what the health/dental would run for a family?

Just trying to plan my next year out till I am bound for Little Rock if the good lords willin' and the creeks don't rise.....

Thanks in advance for trying to answer my questions and willingly share your opinions and experience.
