So 4 of our drivers nominated us as one of the Best Fleets to Driver For. Was humbled and honored that they would do this. And thought that all the winners where TCA members and advertisers.

But, just learned that we are a finalist and made it to the final stage (and have not spent a penny with any of these organizations).

And while winning this would be great I am going to play it straight. I am going to allow all of our drivers the opportunity to respond and not just cherry pick drivers.

OK, back to my regular, over opinionated self.

Well.. I never imagined they would take it serious but I found the link on an expedite forum where drivers could nominate their company and that's what i did explaining the whys as to what I feel. And we are by no means the perfect company, being new there have been a few growing pains along the way, and still are from time to time, but allowing us as owners to run our trucks the way we see fit with no obligations or pressure to take any load that is available or offered is great. It's not easy hauling spot market freight either. I always thought it would be easier when when get some contract stuff in but have come to realize nothing will ever come easy. There is pressure and difficulty at every turn competition is what it is. That (contract) will help smooth things and spot is challenging but I like being in full control of everything with no-one ever telling me "you have to do this load" or "you can't take off 2 weeks are you nuts?!!". Success or failure rests squarly on my, or any other driver at F2F's, shoulders. The tools are available for anyone to make it in this game. Sometimes I think to myself, yeah it isn't easy finding the good stuff and getting good rates, the flip side of that is all the tools are at ones disposal internet in the cab of a truck, googlemaps.. ..I mean I can;t imagine trying to do this in the days of payphones and no internet and competition was no less fierce then than it is now... I'm on a soapbox, anyways this is a great company to work for. The last one I will ever lease onto. The next step will be my own authority or maybe not I know financially I could do that at the drop of a hat, I'm not informed enough about compliance and regulatory side of it yet though. Anyways, 2 or 3 years time from now I only see things getting better and better, much better so who knows. You can at least count on me to hang in there for that much longer. I think to where it was when I first leased on and how quickly and far things have evolved from that point, really just seems as though the sky is the limit. Can't speak for how others feel about that or what their situation is but I have thrived working spot freight and love it. It's my drug of choice...
