From Day One - Abilene Motor Express (Richmond, Wytheville, VA)

What up guys/ Running man I'm presently sitting in a hotel room right now waiting for orientation in the am. (wed). These guys met me today and have been nothing but awesome. Got walked up to meet the folks running the show and I cannot begin to tell you how awesome it is to actually meet owners and managers that aren't ate up with ego. These are good people, have had been ^%$# with the big companies like US XPRESS and CRETE waiting for them to "check my paperwork" and it's been two to three weeks AND THEIR STILL NOT DONE. What chewches, Called Abilene and in the same day their glad to have me, called in the morning and tonight I'm in Richmond waiting for orientation. Guys (all who doesn't work here), if your not being appreciated where your at you need to call them without a doubt. I can't wait, finally a company that gets it.

 

I'm sure everyone else is wondering so I'll just go ahead and ask, what happened to ScooterDawg? I thourougly enjoy his posts and his insite and seemingly level headed approach to this career, but this isn't the first time that he has up and disappeared from a thread like this. For someone that had such a positive outlook on the company it makes you wonder or worry, did something happen to him, or did things just not work out? Either way this forum is comprised of a lot of guys and girls, who although may never meet, feel like we share something in common, so when one of us up and disappears this many times it going to raise an eye brow for a lot of us. Check in with us sometime Scooter and let us know you're atleast still kickin', even if it's not with Abilen.

Solidarity, welcome aboard! I love it here and have nothing negative to say thus far. As far as Scooterdawg..... I know he's still here, I saw his dog and his truck about 10 days ago in Ohio, but he must have been in the truck stop taking a shower. Not sure why he hasnt been posting lately. I'm delivering this load tomorrow in Richmond and then I'm flying out of Richmond Friday to Houston for the weekend to attend a wedding.
I should be in the yard mid morning and I will stick my head into orientation and introduce myself.

 

do you get paid weekly or biweekly? and how about ezpass.......thanks.

 

Paid bi- weekly ...... They have EZ pass and PRE pass+

 

Getting a 2010 truck just means you will get a new one in a few months. There trade cycle is like 24 months for the most part.

 

would i be able to get and advance on my fuel card,when needed.............thanks.

 

$50 at a time on advances. I'm not sure what the limit is per week, I usually only get one $50 advance per week

 

What are their trucks governed at?
