Well....I do a LOT of juicing (look up Dave the Raw Food Trucker on youtube.com....was a lot of help)....Ani Phyo (aniphyo.com) has a number of books...I find her website to be a little graphics intensive for my tablet when I'm on the road- that's wehn a call to my wife so SHE can do the surfing for me happens....
And yes, I have a vegan protein powder shake every morning, and every night.....

Insofar as stock is concerned, I carry a ton of carrots (ooooo....carrroottttttsssssss!!!) for juicing, kale, cukes when I can get 'em, celery, onions, peas, beans (green, wax, cooked brown beans WITHOUT lard -ew-..corn on the cobs, pre-cooked rice and pre-cooked quinoa...for fruits, can't go wrong with apples and oranges in season, grapes, pineapple, young coconut (not the brown ones...the white ones.....easier to cut, and the coconut water is SOO much better...strawberries and raspberries when I can get them....melons (watermelon, canteloupe) from fruit stands is AWESOME.....

Basically, if it's a vegetable or a fruit....eat it (unless you're allergic...then...well...duh...)- if you have a chance to juice, then DO IT....there's nothing wrong with it at all....and if you eat meat, there's nothing wrong with juicing AND eating meat at the same time (just don't try and juice a porkchop....the cleanup is a #####, I hear!!! LOL!!!).

Just eat healthier. And get out of the cab once in a while....you'll feel better for it.....(although, I think a lot of us do....kinda preaching to the choir, but the advice is there.....)

    My 1.5 cents worth....

    Pete.

I actually gained weigh when I stopped driving.
Swapped the physical activity of loading oversize loads with pushing a pen while being fed 3 times a day is what did it for me.

I came off the road and gained 50 lbs.... got back on and have dropped 25 of it.

Until recently, I'd forget to eat because I'd be busy driving. Lately I've discovered the salads that most TS's are carrying and have switched to those for at least one meal a day. They're cheap too ($3.50 ea.).

Hauling in the oilfield during the summer, in the desert, with no AC. Dropped about 30lbs during the summer months. Starting to get it back now. Didn't know a person could go through that much water, LOL.

6 months pulling dry van, lost 5 lbs. Food stays in the cooler in the back. I only take time to eat when I'm REALLY hungry - otherwise I'm either dealing with the business of driving, getting the load delivered, or getting some sleep in the bunk so that I'm not sleepy when I have to drive again.

I keep a box of frozen beef taquitos from sprawl-mart (5 at a time in the microwave when I'm hungry), and when I have time, I'll put together a roast beef / salami / provolone sandwich on rye and munch on it.

The only snack foods I keep in the truck are wheat thins and a block of sharp cheddar.

Sometimes I'll grab a coffee / hot chocolate mix in the morning, and mountain dew during the day to drink.

Today I splurged and bought some chuck steaks. Cooked them up on the george foreman, cut them into cubes. Now I can put the cubes on a hoagie roll with shredded mozzarella and cheddar and enjoy a cheese steak.
