There have been several posts on here from experienced drivers like you that ran into the same problem. The ones that went through Swifts program were very pleased with the results which put them back in the workforce and in demand from other companies. I've never worked for Swift, just telling you what I have read on here.

When did that happen? I have not had a health card for over a decade. Always kept CDL (I am not required to have CDL/Health card for what I have been doing) I just consider it insurance.

Look into SRT out of arknsaw. i worked there short term but not a bad place i just had family issues that i needed to be home for 65 mph trucks and elog sucks not bad miles just when you leave the yard try not to go back...lmao...but the will send you out with someone for a week or two than solo or team depending on what you want

IMHO, I agree you need to be brought back up to speed. What you do not use you loose. Denial will not help you here. Now its all about safety getting us all home again safe and sound.

Hey, it's under the table deal with the big Companies to get a Experinced Driver and paying him like a Rookie!
Coastline Thanks this. -
I don't think there is any kind of conspiracy going on in the trucking industry. Your story is one of hundreds that others just like you are facing. You were out of the industry for a number of years. And you honestly just expect some trucking company just to let you walk in, and hand you the keys to one of their trucks. And honestly, I did the same thing, I quit driving for almost 3 yrs, and found it almost impossible to come back unless I went out with a trainer, and I was a million mile driver, but not treated any differently than a day one newbee.
Why not be humble, and pay whatever price you have to pay, to get your feet back into the industry? If it takes a few weeks with a trainer, then so be it, what have you got to lose? You don't , you really don't, but instead will gain whatever companies trust and respect and they will give you the keys to your own truck.
Good luck to you. I wouldn't move from the West to go back and run only East, I would pay my dues to stay out here, just IMO.motocross066 Thanks this. -
Whew..agree with you there. I've been looking at homes in Las Vegas. Born & raised on East Coast, but, enough is enough!!!

That's the way it is now a days ,...
i was in the same boat ...worked 6 months for a owner operator then went to Conway TL ...Happy ever since ....you can pay & go to swift training - they do hv a big Home Depot account in Tollsen AZ if regional is an option ...you might find a refresher 160 hr course required by some companies of you search hard enough
Good Luck!
