so if your authority is in your personal name, then name on the truck must be your name. thats the reg, i understand that
just wondering if it is different for anyone who has not incorporated or formed an LLC, do any of you guys have your name shortened?

When you file for the authority use your initials as a dba.
-
i asked OOIDA about that, she said that was no good, but i have seen many O/O's with their initials, my thinking is that they must have started an LLC with their initials
thanks for that though, i will bring it up again -
I thought it stood for....Can't Resist Suckin Tittys
Logan76 and CenutryClass Thank this. -
and here i am thinking truck drivers were a higher class of peoplealaga, TruckerSue, SHC and 1 other person Thank this.

So how does that work if you have your truck leased on with someone? You put their name on the truck as "leased to...(company you have truck on with)" And put "owned & operated by ....( your company name) will that cause issues with DOT??
-
i have had "leased to" for years and thats the only name i have
-
Will it cause issues by adding your company name too on the truck?? I have leased to on mine also, I was considering adding my company name too, (my company name is on the registration too)
-
someone more knowledgeable than me can answer that one, i have no idea
i didnt want to put any other name while "leased to" because i dont want to confuse the DOT man
he sees the DOT number, he sees the name of the carrier, he is happy -
My last name is part of my Official business name. My last name is the only thing on my truck though. Been doin it that way for 15 years. Nobody's ever said anything.
