CAXPT,the piece in the last 3 pics,why not secure it by the 4 lift hooks?

 

Babysitting this till day after Christmas then off to Odessa, TX

 

To me it looks to be too short a distance for a boomer or ratchet to fit to the rail. (not centered on deck) Maybe.. Or the tab won't accomodate a hook.. Just some guesses on my part.

 

Seemed like a good idea when I booked this 7 mile load when bored on Monday in the 65 degree sunshine.

Yeah, looks like the hooks wouldnt fit.... that's why you carry some 5/16's without hooks on the ends. I have 8 of these @ 10' long and I use them more than any of my other chains. I also carry seven 1/2" shackles
