    imagine the infrastructure that would have to change, from truckstops to loading docks to tight turns on exit ramps. all would have to change to accommodate this extra real estate

    I reply with the following quotes:
    Infrastructure change did not occur when we stepped up the 48 footer, or to the 53 footer. Why would it change for the 57 footer? After all, its only another 5 feet...and all us trucker driverers is supposed ta be perfessional, right?

    So any accidents caused by the longer trailers will be operator error, nothing more.

    When Freightliner brought out the Argosy I read it was in anticipation of proposed changes to the length limits. At the time there was talk that they were going to add to the front, increasing the front swingout.

    FYI:57 r Lot older than u may think--been around @ least 25 yrs--NFI been using em in fla in national can and Borden accts since the early 80z--HEB in TX had a bunch 4 yrs--was great anticipation back shortly after dereg that they would be accepted nationally--just never happened--the 3d axle push is to take mgvw up to 90k

    yup alaga thats why i posted the pic to see all of the arse hanging overthetandem lol. its not like every dock and street in miami was last made for 48' trailers...lol
