That's why this kind of work I have to do myself... really I'd say Series 60 geartrain is easy to work on.

Just remove radiator, intercooler, fan, water pump, compressor, a/c and remove front cover. do all according manual

I decided to wait and work the truck for a few days before I posted any info on the truck.

I got the truck back Tuesday night everything and I mean everything was replaced on and in the front cover. I don't know if it was because I haven't driven it in over a week but it didn't sound the same. Hauled Wed,Thur and Fri loaded both ways most of the time at 80,000+ ( Over weight for a tri axle dump in Maine legal is 75,900) even though all of us have asked them to lighten the loads and DOT has given them a warning and didn't fine the truck they stopped. Motor seemed to pull better and gained .5 mpg over what I was doing before it went in the shop I was getting 4.5 - 5 mpg the past few days I have been getting 5.3 - 6.

The only thing that is bugging me is that I can only get 30psi of turbo booost at best I have everything the turbo, hoses, innercooler, clamps and intake manifold gaskets. I drove a 96 Pete 377 and that was getting 35+psi of boost with the same 12.7 ddec3 anyone got a idea if this is the best I will get out of it.

When I bought the truck it was only getting 18psi now I have it up to on average of 25 once in a while it will do 30psi.

Also is reprograming it to 485 worth it living here in Maine and this being a dumptruck I could use a little more help in pulling some of the hills and mountians.

30psi is just a tad more than stock on a 12.7.
Typical max boost with an OEM ECM would be about 27psi or so.

Who did the programming? - If your in Maine, there is a guy on this forum that lives for tuning our Detroits and he is nearby.
I am very happy with the work he did and have no problem pushing over 40PSI at times (not that I make a habit of it).

Boost goes up and so does exhaust temp, so you need to watch the pyro when you start pushing 30+ of boost.

Rebel127 is the guy on here that has the most in-depth knowledge of S60 that I have ever met.
I am so glad I never opted to deal with PPP.

If when you got it it was only pushing 18 lbs...did you get the cac replaced? Your truck may have had a program other than stock when you got it, and when they do a rebuild they wipe the ecm and put a factory program on it. That might be why you aren't feeling the same kind of power... Too bad you didn't get ahold of Rebel127 before/while doing the rebuild, he could have recommended different injectors/turbo to back up more power.
Anyways, Hanadarko is correct. Talk to Rebel127. You will smile after the fact. I asked in the other thread where you run/local; I end up in portsmouth area a lot, try to avoid maine bc I am usually 2/3,000 lbs over when I get a load that way. I'd be happy to meet up with you in that area at some point and give you a spin on what started as a straight 430 motor :) I know I won't be up there before christmas though. Just saying.

I replace the CAC in Sept. it had 20+ pinholes in it had it pressure tested last week before I got the truck back and now I have no leaks. Turbo was replace last year ( intake side looked like they ran it WITHOUT a filter) with a stock one as far as the program I have no clue. I bought the truck used and the more I work on the truck to get it up to my standards the more I see the previous owner(s) had a severe case of IDGAS ( I Don't Give A ##### ) with maintenance. I have had the injectors set to 75 99% of my runs are within 50 miles of home mostly back roads too with lots of hills and curves stop signs I wish I would of found this site sooner all of you have been a BIG help.

I did talk with Rebel127 last night for about an hour lot of good info from him price to reprogram was MORE than fair I think now all I need to do is send him my ECM. I like what he said its not going to be a plain Jane program hes going to look at all the info on the ECM and make a custom program from what he sees on the ECM and the info that I gave him for my needs for the truck.

Everybody has their idea about engines and i respect that.

But..........reprograming a ECM without a dynotester is something which i would never do.
To me that's like a surgeon telling you to do an operation over the telephone.
Don't forget that an engine which is programmed to overpreform will not last long.

    My 2 cents.

Agreed. Rebel127 will NOT do any tune that will cause any damage.
That is not a worry with using him.

    Pitts Power? - Maybe...for sure.
