Mt. Shasta...

I think going southbound on a moonlit night, with Mt. Shasta in the background, just past the scales. Is one of the most unforgettable sights I have ever seen.

 

I'm heading southbound in the morning, not really looking forward to it, yesterday was all white knuckle coming down 97 from Bend to Klamath Falls.

 

Just remember, if you wreck in those conditions, even if you are chained, it's considered a "preventable accident".

 

I know just what you are talking about... But I dont chain. I just look at the pretty view till cal-trans comes by.

Friend of mine just called me. He said that the State Patrol is checking trucks for chain installation through the canyon, weed, etc. He said they made him chain up all 4 drives and 2 on the trailer, twice!

I left Klamath this morning, and it was a little icy, but not terrible, I got to Weed and they had JUST lifted the chain up law, so I got lucky there.
