I was just wondering if they hire drivers from Mass. I have read this thread and it seems you guys come up this way quite a bit. Thanks for any info, and happy holidays.

Well no love so far on an early loading as the crew that apparently prepares the stuff for shipping hasn't started working on mine yet and I suppose it doesn't really matter as I am stuck with delivering to New Braunfels on Sunday morning anyway.

Well, it's not perfect but I am getting home for CHRISTmas. After unloading my last stop in Harrisonburg,VA this morning I went to Dumfries,VA (not pronounced dumb-fries) to reload going to Houston for delivery on Monday at 1230. Then I'm supposed to reload in Houston at 1400 with a load going to San Antonio for delivery on Wednesday at 1200. If all goes well I should be home Monday night. Just wish I could have deadheaded home (San Antonio) after the delivery so I wouldn't have to work on Wednesday. Oh well, such is the trucking life.

You guys seem to be real happy with Poly , and it was the enthusiasm of you poly drivers that sold me on pursuing this gig. Thanks a ton guys.

Wow, a long day. Was able to stop at Al's truck stop (now know as JJ"s off I-30 exit 106) and meet my mom for some good home cooking. She worked there as a waitress back in the day for 16 years. After that I headed on toward GP where I passed a Poly truck that happened to by LilRobWayne and said hello. We had a nice chat and he even was nice enough too hang back while by truck started to crap out. Lost a lot of power, so much so that Crete trucks were blowing my doors off:) The old girl decided to die on me in about the worse of all possible areas and I was arranging the triangles when I decided to give her on more shot and she started back up and seemed to have regained all of her power. Well that lasted until the outskirts of Dallas when she started puttering along again but we made it to home base without a hook so have to count it as a win. I went by to check out the truck I am supposed to change into and not really pleased about that. It has some type of Cab something or other device which sits right on the bunk used for a/c/heating and no noticeable invertor. Also one shelf has been torn off the wall and taken and one of the two outside containers for holding chains, etc has been removed. I went also to look for my Volvo as I had called about it a few days ago and supposedly they were picking it up but I scanned the yard real well and couldn't find it. I am going to try and stay in that if all possible.

Hey Majestyk! It was a nice surprise and good to run with you for a bit. I'm super glad you made it on into the yard. I was afraid that truck might quit on you and I should've stayed with you on in. Had that bad feeling about it and hate to leave someone when that might happen. I made it to my destination just fine. Guess that truck they want you in isn't what we wanted it to be. It has the unit like this truck has. Now you know what my Battery pack APU system looks like. Maybe you won't have to move into that one. Last weekend the Volvos were parked over by the fuel island there at the yard. Like right in front of where we fuel. I saw 3 of them parked there last weekend. There should be a few more trucks available. Several drivers were trading in to new ones last week. Hopefully you can get the Volvo back or maybe one of the newer ProStars. I got your other message and will respond to it when I get a few more spare minutes. It really was nice to chat with you and I look forward to doing it again sometime. Keep me posted on how the truck deal turns out. I should be on the yard around noon Saturday. Hope my load out will be ready. Not a load I wanted but it will get me home so going to do it. Anyways, Good Luck and look forward to reading more of your Post. Take Care out there and Happy Holidays to ya! :)

Well decided to just bite the bullet and move everything into the truck they assigned me too. I found my Volvo in the shop with a wheel off and what looked like a bushel barrel full of metal shavings off one of the axels. I got everything out of that truck as well. The good part is I was able to fit all my stuff in the truck, the bad part is I have nowhere to sleep except maybe throw a piece of plywood across the two front seats:) Also some help on this Climacab Apu would be nice, there was no manual in the truck and when I turn it on it doesn't come on except when the truck is started as says in standby due to truck started. What kind of voodoo do I need to do to make it operate? I suppose after I get my invertor installed and pare down on some of my #### it should be a fine truck. Runs really well and you can actually hear silence in the truck instead of that wind tunnel in the Shaker:) But whoever designed the inside of these things should be fired and their salary revoked as it has to be the most poorly laid out design of any truck I have ever been in in regard to usable space. I suppose the bloke that ripped out one of the closets did me a favor as I can now put my refrig/freezer where it once stood. Sitting at the TA in New Braufels awaiting an early morning delivery at Sam's and then I am off to Pol Tex to run a load up to GP tomorrow and hopefully after that a load heading toward home.
