Any idea on how to contact insurance representatives and find how this policy was made and the reasons for it? I would like to do the research but don't know where to start. Maybe we could bring a class action suit for all experienced drivers who are shut out by this?

You will be pissed off after the first week, you drove back when drivers were courteous. Nobody flashes any more, radios off, no common sense any more. Oh and by the way be parked early because all the spots are taken before dark. Have fun.

I wouldnt say everyone is guilty of this. I get flashed to come over alot, I wig my marker lights right back. My radio stays on and just today in montana there were about 10 of us running down I90 having chats. None of us knew each other and the conversations were intelligent and no downing anyone. Guess it depends on the area you drive though.

Your right it's not everybody. My point to Steve D is the difference in drivers from when he was last on the road. I came back after 10 years and had quite a shock. Still a lot of great drivers, just a smaller percentage.

Averitt is to be commended for this flexible approach to training. Makes a lot of sense.

If you want to stay here in Az. look into Duncan and Sons, I work there and really enjoy the work a good balance of work and home time.

Thanks! A driver friend in Phoenix suggested them as well. Their application says must have 1 year of recent experience but it never hurts to give em a call.

Give them a call and talk to Jim and tell him your situation. They are very willing to work with people. I run 2500 miles a week and I am home every other night. If you need any further info shoot me a PM and I will point you in the right direction.

I'd almost bet this is CYA by the insurers because of the ridiculous crap the trial lawyers get juries to believe. You might as well give the plaintiff a printing press if something were to happen with a 'rusty' driver. Yes it's BS, but that don't matter when the jury box is filled with people scared out of their wits when they pass a big truck. Plus the fact that a big chuck of our population sees an accident with a truck as a lottery payoff. And seeing as the takers got what they wanted last month, don't look for tort reform to happen anytime soon.
