Air Charge Hose problems

It is then breathing from the intake without any turbo or airfilter restiction. The turbo is turned by heat and exhaust gases when turbo is spun it sucks from airfilter and then pushes pressure into intake which is refered to as boost. If turbo can't spin it will restrict the intake. When you unhook cac hose the engine is running like a car engine. The engine is natrally asperated with cac hose unhooked. Check turbo and air filter.

 

Just pull the air filter first and see if someone has been messing with your truck.

 

Very understandable, but worrying won't help, pull the air filter and look for things stuffed into the air intake or ice, even a mouse nest can do it.

 

Take the hookup off the front of turbo where it comes from airfilter and see if turbo spins freely.

 

The engine would still breathe through the turbo impeller at idle rpm if it was locked up. If someone filled the air intake with water it would freeze in the CAC. Paper/plastic trash stuffed into the intake piping would stop air flow to the engine.
