Sorry Cowpie1 but like I stated I am glad you are part of the minority that actually do not have to do anything different using E-logs. My statements are for the other 70% of drivers that are being forced to use them and having to work twice as hard as before.

How many states do you run? Which mega do you drive for? My point is you push through the day to beat that clock and I am pulling in plenty relaxed while you are sitting taking your 10hr break without having supper or taking a nice break during the day. Have fun trying to get relaxed inside a cramped truck while I relax and enjoy my nice meal. Like I said work smarter not harder. I don't have the un-needed stress of racing against that clock. But to each their own I suppose. When they mandate you must show what you did on your hometime I hope you really enjoy it as you are one asking for more ######## regs.

I pull over and take a break when I want, I do push to beat the clock but I will stop and get a nice lunch. Then take a 12-14 hour break at the end of the day, that way I can get supper, shower, wash clothes, and still get plenty of rest.

I know not everyone is able to do that. Being a company driver, after I got comfortable I just quit letting my dispatcher and the elogs push me around. My flatbed fm leaves me alone, but when I was in van I was constantly called about everything I did. I hated it.

A lot of people especially new drivers, give that computer all the power and just accept it. Sorry, but I won't. Ill unplug that thing before it logs a violation, because I refuse to sleep on the side of the road or at a customer if I can't take a shower.

Though I completely agree Volvodriver. Some people run and make themselves unsafe. I have days where ill run 4 hours get tired, take a break, then go back to it. The 14 keeps ticking but there aren't too many deliveries I have that are appointments, so I have windows.

I guess what I'm getting at is people let that box dictate when they can do something, I won't.

You would have a valid point.... Except...

Rarely ever have I pushed up against ny clock. I run smart. There is this wonderful thing called trip planning. Crazy huh?

    Try again

Anyone can be pushed regardless of the type of log you're using. Most of your larger carrier have a form of communication to the truck other than your cell phone. All these systems can track your location, it was just as easy for me to see when my paper log guys were stretching their hours as it is to see when eLog drivers are violating. Maybe it's just me, because I wanted an AM check, and a PM check so I would know your location. Then all I had to do was check your start of day, regardless if you let me know it, and I could figure out my entire fleet of 50 drivers in under an hour.

But all that is besides the point, if a company is going to push you they're going to push you regardless of your logs. Switching divisions like Drty did is a smart move, mostly because vans suck and flatbed is awesome. I heard hauling milk is pretty awesome too, but refers kind of suck.

So ur house being bugged doesn't violate any of your rights? How about your car? Lets say you go and rent a car for the weekend and they have it bugged. Does that violate any of your rights? Come on now get real and stand up for yourself.

We all know they are crossing the line but for some reason alot of you just don't care enough to say so. Just because it works for you doesn't mean its right.

don't they track your usage of a rental car? I'll bet they can see where you went, how fast you were travelling, probably get info for hard braking, and other such incidents. If they don't I'm going to start selling some of this crap to them, think of the money to be made in charging people correctly for the damage to the cars they rent... hmmm.
