Hi, everyone -- brandy-new Forum Poster and a Trucker's Wife here. My name is Debra and hubby is Brian. Location: Connecticut. I get to do the typing thing because B isn't the greatest at the keyboard. But trust me -- He's the talker, I'm just the "typer"
Oh, by the way -- this looks like an excellent Forum, and I particularly like the layout and ease of navigation. Thank you, Admins!
I've poked around a little and have found some very useful bits and pieces on lots of different topics. Everyone seems to be extremely friendly and knowledgeable -- you are all truly tremendous assets to this Forum.
However, I am having a bit of difficulty finding updated info that I'm most interested in: Good Tanker Opportunities for New Englanders. If y'all could jump in and share your knowledge, opinions and experiences, we surely would appreciate it.
Here are some particulars ... Brian has/is ...
* 25+ years semi driver experience.
* Holds a Class A with X endorsement.
* 15 years at the same company (THIS time around).
* Currently drives "local" and is home every night -- dump trailer, walking floor, etc.
* We are in Connecticut -- unable to relocate (his kids are here).
* Brian wants OTR -- Out 5 nights to anywhere, home weekends (this is a must) -- paid by miles, not percentage. He would LOVE to be driving 600-mile days. It's fine with him if the terminal is a couple of hundred miles from home.
Brian just applied to Venezia's LPG Division out of Pottstown, PA last week. He has been talking to the recruiter and dispatcher down there, so apparently they do not require Pennsylvania residency. We have heard nothing back from them, as of yet.
Sooooo ....
* Can anyone relate personal/professional experiences with Venezia?
* Is anyone aware of other good tanker companies that may currently be hiring drivers with Brian's experience, qualifications, wants/desires in New England?
Thanks so much in advance for any and all information you're generous enough to share!
(P.S. -- Yes, I know ... I talk too much)

Ah -- Brian and a few of his buds take a traditional annual camping trip to VT every fall. He loves it up there. Always brings home a big jug of the world's finest maple syrup.
Yeah, that CT Swamp Yankee o'mine is pretty "from away" where I come from, too, Snow!!!
Back home, we just call ALL y'all "Yankee"
And I have to tell ya -- after being in this God-forsaken frozen wasteland for 13 years, I'm STILL freezin' mah li'l ol' Southern-fried tushie off!snowman01 Thanks this. -
Welcome to the board, I'm a bit north of you in MA and I don't think you will have an issue finding something in the area.. We are all pretty close to the water so I think you will have good success finding a position hauling hazmat. I know that Propane is a pretty good gig from what I understand, But I can't provide the details. My family runs local out of central MA and we haul Gas and Fuel out of Providence and Boston. I do recall a driver on here that works for Venezia and he might be able to give you some background on the company.. Best of luck with everything!

you know the difference between a yankee an a danm yankee?
#### yankee's dont go back home -
Is a local , home everynight job an option? Maybe like gas hauling or dump work. Venezia might have trouble getting him home every weekend. And not much propane moves in the summer. They do some other products in those trailers but it's limited.
Best of luck in your search!Buzzard2157 Thanks this. -
***snork*** I hears ya, Tpete
Know what a ###dern Yankee is?
One that that don't go home -- stays and marries one of their daughters!!!
