Platinum does not include a new cam or turbo(s). It's an inframe. It does include a new (reman head, new(reman) injectors, and a brand new water pump. Gold inframe does not have new injectors or water pump. Silver doesn't have those or a new head. None include a new crankshaft damper which ought to be replaced but not with CAT OEM made in China. Real easy to go well over $20k with a CAT inframe they'll be happy to finance they're no different than Ford, GM, or Chrysler and have a financial division that makes lots of money extending credit. It's best to talk with a CAT dealer to get specifics on that and various inframe options.

Don't know if it applies here, but when I put a reman in my 2000 Freightliner 4 years ago, it was $23 K out the door. I took a home equity loan out to do it. Best move I ever made in 35 years of trucking.
