Well i finally got to getting my ideas into the workings and i have pulled off my pass side fuel tank entirely along with the tank brackets from chassis. My planned project will be done in steps as i drive truck daily locally i will be cutting down my stock 140gal tanks to 100gallons and shortening them to the exact size of the sleeper 60" as the fill necks will be located directly in the middle of the tank i didnt want the tanks to overhang off the back to give more length and not take away the from my WB. I am still debating as i dont know weather i will be going with a pair off pete pass side tool boxes and move my air tanks from the middle bottom of chassis to above the boxes like the petes, i like the pete boxes as i can modify the height of the box if needed. Or i had a spare 9400 international 48" battery box with bottom step in great condition which i was thinking of cutting down the middle and making 2 boxes out of 1. Either way this will all make way for my grand scheme which is to add the 8" rodd and pickett flat top setup from the bottom ,13' tall and have them run in between the tanks and boxes. I will then add the final pieces to this look which are a set of 5"-6" custom cab and cowl blank stainless panels.
Which will then take me to 2 other pieces i wanted to finish for my truck swap the fiberglass stock hood for the stock ALuminum hood which is also optioned for my FLC model which brings the double rounds and change out my current visor for a 13-14" blind mount custom flat up on windshield type visor but not to drastic in length dleteing the roof lamps and adding them to the visor and deleting the horns as well.
will post pics of the progress up to date as i go along, i just left tank off to get done will be ready by 2pm buddy said from there i will be calling the polish dude to let him get this seriously prepped as i moved the band mount position on the tank so she needs to be sanded and worked on hard i dont have hands arms or shoulders left to pump it lol.

havent been posting much been working on the k&n filter mod and i just got the tank back from being cut down to size (60") will post pics a little later. now i have to get the truck over to my freinds shop to open up my new 8 holes with a special chassis hammer drill so i can then mount tank. Then off to the other side.
x#1 and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -
well heres some pics of the tank and progress.
tank shortened to the exact size of the sleeper 60" from end to end left the fill cap in the middle to make it look symetrical.

still needs final buff polish with softer pad and liquid instead of the bar.
came out alot better then what they looked like before im not a perfectionist either, if anythingi will give it the final pass once mounted firmly to the chassis its hard working on the tank loose on the ground, and thats that these are the skinnier tanks if they were the larger pete tanks i would think they would be even harder to handle.
I purchased the a brand new HD 5/8" drill bit to make holes in chassis as well. i spent about an hour measuring up all the holes correctly and lining them up all i need to do now is just drill them out, good thing is i dont have any wires or hoses on backside of chassis that interfere with anything awesome.
will keep you posted on the progress and when shes mounted will have pics. i need to take one of the tank starps to get repaired as it had a crack at one of the mounting points. nothing major.bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
Make sure you wrap them up nicely before you ship them over here.:>

well i these are the pics of the tank mocked up on the truck as i still have some small welding work to do to the straps nothing major. Just wanted to post pics of how the tank look cut to the size of the sleeper and with the straps to the outside of the tank. I actually like the look of the smaller diameter tanks in comparisson to the larger belly pete or freightliner tanks, they give good porportion to the body of the truck since the hood is a little narrower on this model classic. Thus leading me to the boxes i will not be running pete boxes instead i will be running as shown in picture above a battery box off a 9400 series international eagle which is pretty big in size i got this box on a good deal swapped for labor lol, regardless i will be cutting this box in 2 pieces of about 26-28" wide to make two boxes out of one i like these boxes as they will fill the space of chassis view the pete boxes give up if not runnning the air tanks in same location. plus the diamond plate look will go well with the catwalk plate i will have fabbed up later. with this setup and the 8" flatop rod and picket stacks this will leave the truck looking large for sure.
enjoy pics soo i will have a complete pic for you but this local $$$ dont let me lol.Last edited: Jan 3, 2013

talk about night and day i was doing a delivery at a client and here pulls in another flc120 this one all stock super fleet trucked out.
big cam cummins 9spd straight, reyco suspensions 11x24.5 36" sleeper and almost no guages on dash dam not even dual exhaust not to mention no air breathers and short WB.
this truck has the fat belly tanks on it you can see what i mean how they dont go with the size of this model classic.bullhaulerswife Thanks this.
