Hey Punky...If given the choice between sitting at a desk all day long vs. driving, I'll drive, so in short, I'm liking the road. As for miles...started out good then had a lull to the point that I was getting frustrated. Talked to a few people and miles are back up to being decent. Still have some time to sit around a bit...not a ton but more than what I would like. But all in all, I'm good with what there is and I expect as I 'prove' my worth, then I'll be trusted more to get the job done.

On the lumper issue the main benifit that I can see is flexability to the reciver. If freight goes up or down it is the lumper company paying the lumpers to sit around, not the S/R. My thoughts atleast.

Thanks for the update! Since I have to wait for my 5 year DUI to come its frustrating to wait, but central will take me June 30th. They go by conviction date. My actual DUI happened April 24, 2008. CRST goes by the occurrence date, so I could go with them and start two months earlier, but I think I'm probably best waiting for Central. I of course want to get going sooner, but based on my research, it might be smarter to wait for central. If anyone wants to give me advice on this, I'm all ears!

what difference does it make to either start with crst or central.

    besides 2 months.

if you really wanna. you won't wait 2 months.

it's not like your going to be bouncing from job to job during those 2 months.

start with crst NOW, or wait 2 months to start with central. doesn't make sense to me. unless you want to wait the extra 2 months. then knock yourself out.

do all the research you want. but 2 months to start with a different company isn't gonna matter NOW. or 10 years down the road. you say you wanna get going sooner. then sounds like crst will make that happen. 2 MONTHS SOONER.

personally i would wait the 2 months and go with central over crst yhey got a screwed up traing program where you go out with a trainer then after that they put you in a truck with another person who just upgraded for two months. i woudnt want to be stuck in a truck with someone i dont know with little experiance for that long. plus central has better equipment. just my 2 cents.

I would have to agree with 1badz28 on this, because I know after I spent 28 days on my trainers truck we were both ready to get away from each other. I couldn't imagine being stuck in a truck with another newbie whom I didn't know for 2 more months.

Ever talk to a CRST driver? I talked to a couple when I started driving, and thanked my lucky stars that I didn't go to work there.

Also, like other people have pointed out, CRST drivers team. Are you okay with teaming with a complete stranger?
