central refrigerated pays low for training and its first month or 2. is the same for most for starters. like 300 a week?

$300-550 depending on where you go. Keep in mind, that just cause a company may pay better starting off, doesn't mean it's going to be a good company when the new wears off. Do your research ahead of time, and base your decisions on the long term.

If you're talking about mega carriers who hire new CDL holders with zero experience? ... yes, though there are varying apprentice pay schedules among companies. However, carriers who hire experienced drivers do not have the same sort of massive/rapid scale swing. Right or wrong, that's the way it is.

Research some companies not usually associated with the traditional starter companies & your pay will be better than average for a new driver. Examples : trans-system (flatbed, reefer, tanker) or Melton Truck Lines or Interstate Distributor or Miller Transporters; there are plenty others if you search because they usually don't advertise for new CDL drivers.

With the winter months and the way the economy is and everything skyrocketing,in trucking don't ecspect to see any checks that make you say WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

around here. wages are lower now then when the economy was booming. -
