palace37.....they took off (unscrew) my glad hand (on the red line) and held it untill I came up with cash....and the city of Eaton, OH cops knew it to....demanded $500.00 ....I cried poor....ended up giving me a "deal" $250.00 on tcheck....cop too the numbers from me and carried it over to tow truck driver....the funny part is that I did not get a ticket (no ordinance by the city)....I think they were doing it for a while!!!

I understand where you're coming from.I'm not a pig either but unfortunately we have to suffer for the ones that are pigs. When im OTR I try and stay at a Walmart but I do see signs at many walmarts that says no over night parking, vehicles will be towed at owners expense.I take those signs very seriously. It's a shame this had to happen to you and I thank you for posting this.Let this be a wake up call for anyone attempting to park for the night at a Walmart. But like I said Ohio haites trks so what happened to you does not surprise me.Calling the state police is a joke because they're in cahoots with Walmart.

Here is how it is done. I walk in to walmart and immediately request the manager. He/She comes up ask me is everything ok and I say yes. Then I explain I am the green truck pulling flatbed in the lot and I am there for shopping and then I hit the road. More often than not they tell me that is fine but no overnight parking and that has alot to do with the parking lot sweeping crews coming in.

Something doesn't really sound right about how this went down. In Michigan, city codes are written to address/enforce parking. If this had been in Michigan, the cops would have just asked the party to leave. However, if the truck is parked there for an extended period of time..or..the lot is well posted regarding parking restrictions...then you may get a ticket for "unauthorized parking". Towing is typically a last resort and only happens when the owner is not around, a set time limit has expired, or the vehicle is in a place where it causes a hazard or restricts the property owner from doing business.

Running into Walmart for a script takes about 10-20 minutes...i just don't see this all going down this quick.

In Chicago, on the other hand, parking/towing is a racquet and part of life in the city. Those parking areas are all clearly marked with signs.

    I love those games.

Called 911.......cops came......and started hugging everybody!!! And then Betty White got out of the squad car and gave me a parking ticket to which I replied......................

I can't stand Walmart and try to avoid it whenever possible but it sounds like a scam or fabrication to m
    e. I would have called the STATE police first, demanded a receipt (w/ ID) , local cops badge #, then called Walmart corporate # to alert them of scam... Maybe nothing would come of it but just as likely one of the actors would get nervous and say "they're letting me off with a warning".

Lots of drivers ignore signs or can't read simple "no parking" signs.
