Maverick Driver general bs thread

Mine are located under the hood, on the passenger side, down by the steer wheel. They are clamped on you will need a wrench or vice grips to unbolt them from their carriage mount attached to the frame. Once you have them loose, pull them out, and slide them into the two holes on the front of your bumper sideways, then twist a half turn to lock in place. I do not know if DOT frowns on them being attached while driving around, I was just kidding earlier, I take them off once unstuck and return to their carriage.

 

I have never had an issue in the snow, but one time I was at a job site and the trucks with the duals were getting stuck and I got in and out of there without having the fork lift pull me like it had to for them. The guy even asked me if I had four wheel drive.

 

That was wild!

 

In the wintertime I always carry a Bag of salt. It will get you out of some situations. And when your deck covered with ice well put salt down where I'm going to set timbers or where I'm going to place my coils it will melt the ice off. You definitely don't want to set it on the ice.

Parking on snow and ice covered parking lots. Here is a good helpful hint when you stop after a minute or two pull forward a foot or so wait for about 5 min. then back up the foot or so. What you are doing is leting your tires cool off. Depending on load weight and temperatures might have to repeat steps up to 20 min. that way in the morning you can drive right off. Or you can be like the other guy that pulled up and stopped and in the morning when he goes to leave his hot tires melted down a quarter inch into the snow and all he does is sit there and spin.

 

Just did a load swap for one of our drivers. He tried to deliver this morning and the consignee is closed till Wednesday. It delivers 60 miles from home. Figured I'd take it so he didn't have to sit on it for two days. Back at the house now relaxing. I've been getting some firewood cut the past couple days....ready to get rolling again so I can take it easy lol

 

I now know why I love living in the South during the winter. In Ashtabula, OH it's 25 out and feels like 15. By unload time in the morning it will be 19 and feel like 5! Did I mention about 7"-8" of snow on the ground and light snow expected tonight. How do ya'll living in the North stand it? LOL

 

It gets to be a grind for us in the winter (living up here that is) about mid-January. It seems though, that most of the worst snow storms we see in my area of Midwestern OH usually come late January to mid February. By then we are VERY sick of winter. Once the first 42 degree sunny day in March rolls around we are all in shorts and tee shirts running around saying how wonderful it is that spring is finally here LOL!

 

Warmed up to 36 yesterday. I was in a tee shirt for a bit while splitting wood. I would rather have it 20 than 90 anyday

 

Got freaking stuck in Ohio last week. Stupid snow. Had to wait till later in the day for some of it to melt. Finally got out.with out a tow thank God.

 

Got a new F.M this week. Eric Moore. Have any of you heard of him.? I think he is knew
