With the 120 hours with your trainer you can not take the dog. The 120 hours is usually completed on an average of 22 days. Then after that you are required to team drive for a 8 week period. During that 8 week period you are allowed to take your dog with you. They will definitely find you a partner who will agree. I know this first hand. I'm actually going through it now with USX.

Try Arnold Transportation. They have a pet policy $400 deposit, they'll take $50 from each check till its paid for and $200 is refundable if you decide to leave the company. If you're a recent grad like me with NO experience, they require 150BTW hours before they upgrade you to your own truck. No teams, it's solo dry van or flatbed. And they do lanes east of the Mississippi, with a Texas tour for experienced drivers. This is who I've decided to go with. They are sister company of USXpress. So I figure its around 15 days training give or take a few days. www.drivearnold.com

Some companies that say No pets have different rules for team drivers.. I found this out with PAM.. they have a no pet rule... then I told her we were planning to be a H&W team .. then she said YES they are allowed to have a pet.. So don't believe everything you read even on the company website.. Not everything is written in stone from what I am seeing ....

Teams seem to have a different set of rules in some areas.. especially H&W Teams..

Do you take your pet on the shower with you to wash it? It has to get flea baths and bathe regularly because they can stink also.

LOL... Yep... But then ours is a grand total of three pounds. I carry him in a soft sided cat carrier. I have a feeling if we had a boxer or shepard it would be a different story :biggrin_25523:

How does your pet react to the truck moving and shaking down the road?
