Hey happy 2013 everyone! I have a question about on site parking. I'd like to know if I drive my car to Dallas, if there's a compound to keep my car safe and from being broken into and vandalized. Also does it cost anything?

You can zoom in and see the employees parking lot just to the right of the guard shack at the entrance. The #3 marker was our old yard on US 80 from back in the 80's.Last edited: Jan 2, 2013

As for being safe from being vandalized/broken in to, I think it is park at your own risk.
KMac, Emulsified and pharrari Thank this. -
I ran the security car the weekend before Christmas and there are cars in the lot that have broken glass, there are some that look like they have 'recent' damage and lots of flat tires. Now, most of the issues could have come before they where parked but I can see some of it occurring while in the lot due to location and debris that has not been cleaned. Also flats could be from a 'friend' or just slow leaks. There are some cars with car covers, if you go with one of those get a good one with good tie downs. There are several that the wind has blown off and they are partially on or just stuck under the wheels. Anyways I believe it is park at your own risk. It is monitored but to what effect I am not sure.

Wow. Now I'm really not sure about driving my car up there if there's a lot of vandalism up there. I can understand the leaks from tires but maybe someone aired out their tires? But still, how old are the people up there? I guess its not under surveillance? If I can't trust my car being up there and fellow employees are banging it up, how could I trust a team driver? -
Good observation.
Also, why take your car there ?
Leave it at home.... -

There's a few reasons why I want to bring my car. The first is for the first 4 days I'll be hanging out in Dallas, after the instruction is over, I don't want to be bounded to the small hotel they are willing to provide, but its a really rough one cough cough America's Worst Value Inn!
Another reason is storage, if I bring too much I can always keep it in the car but what it sounds like is the lots aren't really secure at all.
Plus just the experience of driving from Florida to Texas would be a nice drive! I'll go through GA,AL, and Louisiana.
I'm still thinking this over. I was told that when they send me home after the training that it will take me too long to drive home, but if they'll fly me there I'm curious as to will they fly me again from Florida back to Texas again. I probably have to call and ask on that one. -
That is also the employee parking lot. That is where the mechanics, shop workers and non exempt employees park.
I know several people that park their cars there and use them when they take time off. Most live within a couple hundred miles of Dallas, but one lives in Jacksonville MS. None of them have had vandal, breakin problems. If you want to park there, just park closer to the guard shack where no one bothers anyone. But as others have said...it's at your own risk. (but so is everywhere else!)TRKRSHONEY and NRGNXS Thank this. -
