Ive seen some heavy and I mean heavy people climb up on that top bunk with minimal problems. Most companies these days will give you a company physical aside from the DOT, youll have to do like a duck squat walk and climb a ladder and some other things. The point here is if you can pass this you can climb up to the top bunk. You don't pass those test you probably wont see the inside of a company truck. Also these days most companies want the trainer to run line 4 while the student drives.

if it doesn't have the web restrainer up there, you shouldn't be in it when the truck is in motion.
-
Yeah, you don't want to do that - a hard stop will catapult you off of the bunk and then there's the fall. Team/training trucks, the off-duty driver hot bunks on the lower berth using a sleeping bag.
-
Just keep the top bunk to one person. Two in the same up-stairs bed, getting busy with 'whatever', will not work. Tried it one time, did not turn out well.

My company's policy is no top bunk while vehicle is in motion. We run team and if they find out you were up top and the truck was rolling, well let's just say you won't ride or drive their trucks again.

we need more warning labels to protect us from ourselves
we will be like ladders pretty soon
must be 7-8 warnings on every ladder these days -
Top bunk will rock you to sleep. You're way above the center of gravity, so every little movement of the truck will be multiplied to the top bunk.
