werner deducts money for bonds????
what for? -
I really don't know they have been deducting 10 dollars from every pay check ever since I started working for them
-
you should get the bond back, you'd just need to clean out the truck thats all
-
They've been takimg $10 a pay from you and you don't know why>is this what you are saying?
-
In order for them to deduct money from your check they would need to get your permission. You would have signed a contract when you started work for them. What does your contract state? Bonds are usually done to protect the carrier from losses. Some may charge a bond in case you trash or damage the truck. They could use it as a means to recover the costs of cleaning up the truck. As long as the truck is returned in good condition and clean, there should not by any charges from the carrier. The length of time to return the bond money should be listed in your contract. Carrier's are required to pay owner operators within 6 weeks from the take of cancellation of their contract.

This is an "escrow account". Monies set aside for any number or reasons.

I never heard of such a thing!

Maybe lease but not company? There would need to be a signed written agreement when you signed on. -
Do they take $10 a week from dispatchers in case the quit and leave a messy desk?
-
For all the money Werner spends each month recovering abandoned trucks and cleaning them up, $10 a week from all the drivers probably doesn't cover the actual costs they incur but I think if that's what the money is deducted for, they'd be better off having the driver agree to the monies coming out of a final paycheck (if any check at all) unless they clean it out well and return the truck to an approved terminal on an approved dispatch. I wonder where the cap is and when they stop deducting?
